You may have noticed some new graphics here at the weather center. Assembling these has been a learning experience though with time it will get better. I use the free Photoshop alternative, Gimpshop, which has been around for a couple decades. The main thing is to make them aesthetically pleasing to the masses. I hope you enjoy them…
I have also been poking around the site doing various tweaks which will hopefully create a more polish site.
This week we will see slightly cooler than normal temps, however they should normalize as we get into the last week of June and approach the normally warmest month of the year in July. Then perhaps we may need to get the air conditioners running again. This is the latest I can remember getting my large kitchen unit in the window – it still sleeps in the basement….
Today we will see mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers – high temps will be near 70°. The next chance of rain will come Wednesday and Thursday – temps this week should be in the mid – 70s.
We have reached the point of our earliest sunrises which is around 6am dependent on where you live in the state, the latest sunsets will be next week which is around 9:30pm.

Two weeks from the “4th”, and all we can accomplish is 58 degrees…yet another worthless year in the Southern Arctic.

Looking down the road there are indications that it could turn warmer in the eastern part of the US in a couple of weeks not sure how long that will last if it develops but I know we will hear from some on how hot it is and will be. But like Rocky says in the winter (if it indeed becomes warm) hey its summer time enjoy it.

Yet another cloudy day here in our neck of the woods. So far here at my house no rain yet today but rain was reported at the airport. Also while we have seen a lot of rain this spring and early summer thunderstorms have been few and far between. We are now at the half way mark for June and yes it is been wet 2.24” vs a normal average of 1.93 by this date. And it has been cooler then average with a mean of 63.8° and that is -2.5 below average. The warmest so far is just 82… Read more »
We have had a band of rain which formed and set up over Allegan/Barry Counties and is expanding to the east and northeast towards Lansing – we have picked up an inch of rain in the past hour and a half….
As our friend the great one ROCKY would say another below average day in the great state of Michigan Who would of thought?? INDY!!
Rock on Indy and what an incredible year so far! Above normal snowfall and now 6 straight months with below normal temps! Incredible!!
I was reading about Greenland’s ice cover and the Arctic sea ice, and there is some shocking melting taking place this year. Sea ice is at an all time record low for mid June while Greenland is actually having floods from so much ice melt. Some good reads/stats and pics here:
