Winter Weather Advisory – Weekend Storm?

Just a brief burst of excitement from the Superbowl last night – WOW!!!  Not a lot of defense until the end of the game when the Eagles got after Brady.  I would have to rank this game the best I have seen and I have seen a lot of them. The Eagles came out on top 41 to 33.

Weather wise the theme for this week will be snow.  We have another Winter Weather Advisory in place for Oceana-Newaygo-Muskegon-Ottawa-Kent-Allegan-Barry-Van Buren-Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties from 6pm this evening through 7am tomorrow.

The break from the snow will be brief, as it will move right back into the area this evening. Accumulations tonight will range from around an inch across portions of interior Central Lower Michigan to 2 to 4 inches across Ottawa, Allegan and Van Buren Counties.

There is the potential for isolated higher amounts as well. High pressure will build in and bring quiet weather for Tuesday and most of Tuesday night.

Light snow will break out once again for Wednesday on the north side of a low moving through the Ohio Valley. Another inch or two of snow is possible from late Tuesday night into Wednesday. Temperatures this week will remain below normal with highs around 20 to the lower 20s and lows in the single digits and teens. Normal highs for this time of year should be up in the lower 30s.

We may see a more potent storm move in for next weekend which could present us with a 24 to 30 hour storm with significant snow.  Should this pan out it may be our strongest winter storm of the season.

We were added to the WWA for 2-4″. We received a dusting. NWS GR has had a rough go of it lately.

So first thing this morning M. Kirkwood was saying 3 -6 inches tonight, then at noon lowered that to 2 – 4 inches and now Bill says 1 – 2 inches. Really? Talk about tweaking the forecast. At 3:45 NWS was predicting 2 – 4 inches for some, 4 – 6 for others. Can’t wait to see what their next update is, lol.

Woodtv is usually overzealous on their cold and snow predictions! A lot of wishful thinking on their part that normally doesn’t materialize.

Bring it! We are now above normal for seasonal snowfall with tons of SNOW coming yet this week! INCREDIBLE! We are well on our way to the seasonal above normal snowfall that I have been predicting all winter long! If you listened to all of the warm weather fanatics you would think we are well below normal with snowfall. Not true – we are clearly on our way to a February and a winter to remember!

So are you still predicting 100+ inches of snow for G.R.?? That was your actual prediction, not just above normal.

100 inches sounds about right!

Well, you said that last year too, so maybe you’ll be closer than the 40 inches you were off by last year!

I think I remember my grandparents telling me stories about how it used to snow in February. My how times have changed! Now it seems to be so shocking to people when we get snow in February that they can hardly contain themselves. Crazy.

Yep Slim, will never understand how anyone can find shoveling and driving in this crap appealing. Waking up at 6 am every day to go to work, having to put 10 layers of clothes on just to go out and brush off and start your car! AWFUL!! Snow is awesome for the Holidays but after that it can go back to the frozen hell it came from!! Just a positive reminder:

We got about 4 or 5″ and the roads have been plowed – yet for some reason, all the schools are closed here. Methinks the administrations and teachers wanted to sleep in following the Super Bowl.
