Slim and I have surpassed 1000 posts this week on this site. This doesn’t include the old Coffee Shoppe site or the crude beginnings of Ancient Dreams when it became a weather site taking in Bill’s bloggers. I have had a lot of posts on the old sites which mainly covered electronic builds and other eclectic stuff some of which still lives in the ether we call the internet.
All in all I have enjoyed this site the best though it can sometimes take some time keeping links updated from outside sources and keeping everything secure from hackers and the weenies who try to ruin the experience. I have been trying to scale back on some of the stuff which NOAA and the NWS keep changing linkwise or which my security software deems unsafe. Over the winter I went from http to https, the ‘s’ meaning I have a secure site for those of you who come here.
That said if anyone wants to become a poster here, to join Slim and myself in a weekly post email me and I will give you a shot. It is days like these when we don’t have much going on weatherwise we could use some fresh thoughts.
Yesterday for me was what I consider a perfect weather day. My lawn is cut and trimmed and today I begin planting the tomatoes and pepper plants. My wife and I are retired so we have the time to care for the lawn and gardens better than when we did when we were both working. I have always had the nicest lawn in the neighborhood which is quite a feat growing in the sand which we started with when we built the house over 20 years ago.
Thank God for Whitmer, our sec of state and Fauci! Keep up the great work! Remember on 4/23 trump suggested injecting yourself with disinfectants! Wow!
Spectacular day today. Had to run to my mom’s to our new blades on her mower today. Many boats and travel trailers heading north on US-127.
72 degrees in GR at 330pm! Just another beautiful above average day with even more warmth upcoming.
Well, Michigan is reopening today. Gatherings up to 10 people are now allowed among other things. Not sure how smart that is with all the cases we still have, especially in Kent County.
Indeed Mookie. I hope they keep the sports crowds out of stadiums or all together scratch all of the fall college games this year.. If not, we will prob see another spike in cases.
The most curious part is that Michigan has seen an uptick in cases this week – especially West Michigan. I think Big Gretch felt some pressure with Memorial Day weekend upcoming and caved. There’s absolutely no science that supports her decision to ease restrictions today.
Probably because her cottage is in Traverse City I’m sure she’s having a party …INDY
LOL I wonder how mad Rocky is about his governor now. Just the other day he said everything should remain shut down for months.
Im having a party Saturday in Lakeview Michigan more the merrier so over this pendemic hype watch and see what warm weather weather does to it ….INDY
Good for you INDY!! People want to be free and not be babysat like children! Open up the US!!
I think the biggest lesson here is to avoid living close to rivers, low lying areas, flood plains, and man made lakes (that are a result of a dam). Did anyone see how Wixom Lake is essentially completely drained now? I would be very interested in hearing how long it will take for that lake to refill after the dam is fixed.
Here are some videos of the lake.

The Grand River has flooded we have water in our back yard my fire pit is under all the gawker’s driving up and down the street like they never saw water before I should set up a lemonade stand probably our governor would shut it down though lol…I’m thinking the mosquitoes will start coming out with all the water around here yup Summer is officially here …Have a good Thursday ..INDY
As predicted, yesterday was an above average day. The first of what looks to be a long streak. Some models are thinking mid 80’s for next week, but I see WOOD has three days right at 80 degrees for now.
