We have had 1.72 inches of rain since yesterday early morning. We are up to 2.18 inches of rain for the month here in Otsego. At 5:30 am we have a warm 60° and light rain.
We have turned the corner into a more springlike pattern, the grass is green, the trees are leafing, the birds are singing – doesn’t get much better than that.
I noticed a new neighbor in our wildlife menagerie, a big fat woodchuck. He is living under a fallen tree in the woods next to my property. My neighbor down the road was cleaning out his woodpile the other day and found three woodchuck cubs, he turned them over to the Kalamazoo Nature Center. They are nature’s bulldozers and can dig rather large dens to live in.
We should have a couple of nice days to enjoy with clearing today and partly sunny skies tomorrow and temps around 70° both days before the rain moves back in for tomorrow night.
Seems like the southeastern Republican Governors are handling the virus response Far Better than their northern Democratic counterparts. Just take a look at South Carolina, Georgia and Florida’s Corona Deaths compared to Michigan and New York’s. Just the facts!!

Kent County continues to explode for COVID! Between 20-50% of all new statewide cases the past couple days have been in Kent County. What is going on?
Good question. I know that here there are a lot of people driving around not sure where they are going but I am sure they are stopping some where. Not saying that is why but I know people are not getting it from staying home.

Scary time for West Michigan. It’s really exploding. I remember when Kent County had under 100 cases while the rest of the state was blowing up. Now Kent County is the hot spot.

Here at my house I recorded 1.38″ of total rain fall for this system. With all of this rain that mean it will be grass cutting time this weekend. Hey slim, gotta wait for our backyard “pond” to drain, then I’ll be mowing Sunday. I’ve kept my blueberry plant and pepper plants in their pots so far and they are doing well, because I’ve been bringing them inside on cold nights.
