First off I have some sad news to report. MV’s mom passed yesterday afternoon.

Last year the hottest day was 94 and the coldest low was 48.
The average summer (June/August) mean temperature here in Grand Rapids is 70.6° The warmest was in 1955 74.7° the coldest was 65.5° in 1992 Last year the mean was 72.2° The average rain fall is 11.14” The wettest was 22.63” in 1994 and the driest was 3.18” in 1918. Last year Grand Rapids had 11.41” The average sunshine is 63.0% the most was 78.6% in 2006 and the cloudiest was 50.3” in 1915 Last year it was 56% The average number of 90° days (for the whole year) is 13 the most is 37 in 1988 the least is 0 in 2014 and 1951 Last year there were 19. As you know we have not seen many thunderstorms in the last few years. The average number for Grand Rapids is 32 Last year Grand Rapids reported 25 in 2017 the number was 22 and in 2016 it was just 10 in 2015 the number was 17 and in 2014 the number was 24.

Michael, may you and your family experience a peace that goes beyond understanding during this time of loss. I just had my father’s memorial service today as he passed on May 11th. For me it has been a Blessing of peace because he suffered w/ Alzheimers & though I will miss him, I know he is free and celebrating everlasting life with Christ. May God richly Bless you and your family with strength and peace!

Breezy day at the lake. A little too choppy to fish. Hopefully the wind calms down this evening.
I lost my stepdad just over a year ago. He’s buried at Fort Custer. It is a difficult time and while you never truly get over it, time does help to ease the pain. Prayers up for MV and his family.
