Some Distractions

I have certain comics I read in the weekly Kalamazoo Gazette which gives me a few moments of distraction and a chuckle here and there I suppose it won’t hurt to share a few here.  Most of us started with a beater when we began to drive, luckily back in the day with simpler engines we could keep them on the road with duct tape, a spare gallon of oil, antifreeze and coat hangers, not so much today as cars are not as forgiving.

Warmer weather will soon come into our area as spring makes its way north.  Even though we can’t travel far it will be nice to walk around in the woods or just sit on the porch and enjoy nature.  The CPC outlooks are guessing chances of above normal temps and precip right on through April.  I guess it is a good time to put away the snowblowers and change the oil in the long tractor as the grass is greening up and will soon need to be mowed.

MV I like the comics. They add a nice touch to the page. I like Pickles too.

First I want to thank everyone for all the thoughts & prayers for my bother-n-law. Besides pneumonia from aspirating he tested positive for Covid-19. He is doing good. No temp yesterday or today. He has oxygen as needed. but he has improved since he went in the hospital. He doesn’t know how he got it – he hadn’t been anywhere. So someone who came over there was either a carrier or had it & didn’t know it. My sister says it’s hard not being able to see him. We are all so grateful that he is doing better. I hear… Read more »

So much for that April cool down Slim posted the other day. CPC looks warm! MLive says the current models have us in the mid 70’s on April 8th. Get the mowers and gardens ready… the early spring continues!

Looking good ! I need to get some yard work done. Looks like next week will be a good time for it .

That long rang guess was from Paul Pastilok at Accuweather. Now we will see if the CPC is right or not but we will see how warm it gets on April 8th. Can we call that “your forecast?” Anyway if it gets that warm there could also be a chance of storms, maybe?

Another warm month with below average snow! I had a feeling spring would start early this year given the warm winter and lack of snow and ice. Two regular posters on here were wrong again.

The month of March here at Grand Rapids will end up being warmer and wetter than average with less than average snow fall. The high for the month will be 63 (that is in the middle of the pack) and the low for the month will be 17 that will be tied with several other years for the 7th warmest minimum for the month of March. Will have more on this tomorrow. At this time it is 39 here with cloudy skies.

Thanks for the yuk yuks!
I’m not quite ready to mow, but I would welcome some clear nights to get the telescope out without getting frostbite on my nose…
