We should see a slight reprieve from the heat today due to the clouds and remnants of tropical depression Barry moving sluggishly from the south. Southwest Michigan should see some rain and a possible thundershower – we haven’t had a drop of rain since the 7th in Otsego.
At this point the best chances are from Grand Rapids and to the south and east. At 4:30 this morning we have some development of light rain moving as far north as Allegan Country.
Enjoy the reprieve today – temps will rise again into the upper 80s to low 90s as the week progresses with chances of popup storms every day. There are excessive heat watches covering five states to our southwest which will run from tomorrow through Friday.

I was out that way today when it poured. It was a heavy downpour that we almost pulled over till it let up. Got home and we had not even a drop of rain.
Well…that was wet. .75 over the last half hour. Lawn watered.
I just had a very light shower here with just 0.02″ of rain fall. There are indications that once we get past this weekend there will be a trend (pattern change) to cooler and maybe wetter weather. The official high so far at Grand Rapids is 80 so the string is still on here at Grand Rapids.
