Hot & Humid Conditions Return

I was out doing cosmetic repairs to my shed yesterday morning between rain showers and the tropical humidity.  Even though the temps were only in the 70s it didn’t take long to be drenched in sweat.  We received .60 of an inch of rain as temps stayed in the 70s all day – it was the first rain we had received since July 7th.

After a brief reprieve we will return to the hot and humid conditions today through Sunday with temps in the upper 80s to low 90s and heat indices in the upper 90s to 105. The US-131 corridor looks most favored for the stronger surface convergence and possibly a few showers or storms later today due to lake breeze convergence.

We have the possibility of an MCS (Mesoscale Convective System) approaching our area early tomorrow morning from Wisconsin bringing gusty winds and heavy rain.  Severe storms can not be ruled out dependent on the strength and organization of the system.

Chances of showers and popup storms exist through Sunday due to the heating of the day and instability in the atmosphere.

We should cool down next week as a more comfortable airmass settles over the state with may hang around for the rest of the month.

Accuweather for Grand Rapids currently shows nothing but 80’s and 90’s for the rest of July. It would be something if we could keep the 80+ degree day streak alive all month long.

LOL four days in the 90’s as well as Sunday in the upper 80’s is a “three day heatwave” now? So much spin…

INDY

My opinion 80’s don’t count for a heat wave I’m sure most will agree …Great Sprites…INDY ..

Even if you don’t think 87 and muggy is hot, WOOD and Fox both show four days in the 90’s, not three. So please explain that.

Sandy (Hudsonville)
Sandy (Hudsonville)

It is feeling pretty hot and humid out there already. Not much of a breeze either.

Here comes the heat! WOOD has low to mid 90’s for the next 4 days! This is going to be added to the 5 90 degree days we’ve already experienced in July.

So with yesterdays high of 82* in GR which I believe is below normal and todays forcast high of 88* degrees I’m thinking the hottest days will be Thursday Friday and Saturday now a 3 day heat wave not to bad from what they been saying all of last week coming! more heat hype I call it!! Before we cool down Sunday could next 3 days be our last 90*s of the Summer?? I
sure hope so ..Not really seeing any more big time heat down the road coming after this week ..Stay Tuned ..Stay cool . .INDY!

Rocky (Rockford)
Rocky (Rockford)

Yes some heat wave? 82 degrees yesterday during a week all of the warm weather fanatics stated “every day will be near or above 90 degrees”? Now we are looking at about 3 days and then the transition back to great summer weather begins! Incredible!

Mookie
Mookie

LOL You also said we probably wouldn’t be seeing any 90’s this summer and yet we are above average already for 90 degree days. By the way, yesterday was +4 degrees ABOVE AVERAGE and our 4th warm day in a row and our 12th warm day out of 16 in July. Incredible!

INDY
INDY

Not in GR ..lol…Fox has a high of 78* degrees Tuesday the heat is on its way south where it belongs …INDY!

You are spewing fake news as usual!

The skies are partly cloudy here now and the temperature here at my house is at 71 with a dew point of 67. So far this month every day has been warmer then 80 and Grand Rapids is now at 22 days in a row. (today will make 23) After this next warm up it looks to cool down and that cool down could last for some time we shall see.

With my medical issues, I need one every 18 months. No fun, for sure. But the anesthesia is pretty sweet. Fortunately, I don’t have to drink the two gallons of prep anymore. I get Suprep, which in only two small bottles.
