Rain Chances Increase

First of all with the commentary on masks yesterday it is my opinion that if you are in public wear a mask if not for oneself do it for those who wish to stay healthy.  There are many like myself who have underlying conditions in which COVID could be a killer.  Tom Hanks said the other day he, like myself, was raised in a generation where you did what you have to do for the survival of the nation.  There is a big difference between the Greatest Generation and the Me generation.  During WWII the men of our country rushed out to fight the pandemic of Hitler and Hirohito.  The rest did what they had to do to support them.  Today we only have to wear a mask and practice social distancing.  Just some food for thought.

Our chance of rain increases today and Friday.  Today the rain will probably set up east of the lake breeze, meaning a better chance east of US131.  Still, along the 131 corridor we have 50/50 shot of seeing some rain.  Humidity will be near the 70 mark which is uncomfortable to say the least.

This is the hazardous weather outlook from the NWS:

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Heat indices of 95 to 100 are expected again this afternoon.
Scattered thunderstorms could produce torrential downpours and
brief gusty winds, along with dangerous lightning strikes.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Scattered thunderstorms on Friday could produce heavy rainfall and
localized flooding. Isolated storms are also possible Saturday
through Monday, mainly inland from Lake Michigan in the afternoons.

Although less humid weather will move in for the weekend, heat and
humidity will return again by the middle of next week.

Wearing masks? Of course everyone should be wearing a mask out in public, especially inside! The facts and data are indisputable, yet the President still will not wear one and will not tell his cult followers to wear a mask! Reckless!

MV well said. I agree too. I just wish more people would take this virus seriously. The thing is it is going
to be here for awhile. We need a safe vaccine for it. I am tired of people complaining about what’s not open and etc. That should be the least of our worries.

Until this virus is under control, schools cannot and will not reopen. Until this virus is under control, our economy cannot and will not recover. Wear a mask, wash your hands, and maintain distance. Do it for the children. Do it for your country.

Not sure how we stumbled into such luck…enjoying every moment of this “nearly” perfect Summer! Sad days ahead as the Southern Arctic will eventually crush this temporary paradise, beyond all reason. Enjoy it while it’s here…

Wow! “Early next week a few cities in the Plains states may even flirt with their all-time record highs. However, when all is said and done, the bigger story will likely be how long this heat wave lasts.”

Bring on the rain and cooler temps! This has been a mini heat wave, but nothing out of hand and surely no records!

Well call it what you wish, but the facts show we have now had a longer stretch of 90 degree days than at any point in 2012, and records are being broken around the area. Muskegon just had their longest stretch of 90’s ever. Ridiculous heat for our location on the planet.

38 out of the last 50 days have been average or warmer than average and we on pace for our 4th straight warm year in a row. I love it!
