Cool Weekend

We have a cool pattern setting up for today on through the weekend, our best chance of rain is today but I don’t expect much – maybe a tenth of an inch or less if any.  Temps will be in the upper 60s to low 70s through next Monday before we have another warm up with above normal temps ranging to near 80 and above – some models are trying to give us mid 80s for Tuesday and Wednesday.  The CPC guesses are for chances of above normal temps through the next two weeks – perhaps beyond.

Well that’s 3 hundredths more than we received! I’ll have to go back and add up the totals, but I don’t believe here at our house there has even been 2 inches total of rain since it shut off in mid June. Of the small total there was 1 day in August where we received just over an inch, so take that day away and we haven’t even had an inch in total. I half expect sometime in October it will start raining again and rain for 2 months straight.

At the Holland airport they have reported 3.29″ of rain since June 24th so yes it has been a dry spell.
I do not have any records for Zeeland so it may be drier in your yard.

Most of the rain “events” the past couple months have skirted all around us. Pouring rain just 2 miles away from our house, yet hardly a drop here. And of course the countless storms that cross the lake, hit the lakeshore and disintegrate over us only to reform just to the East. Our location is kind of a weather Bermuda Triangle. Same in the Winter with lake effect, it’s a pretty stark shut off point right near our house.
