Looking at the area temps this morning there a few readings in the 30s around Cadillac. Grayling airfield is 34°, Green Lake is at 38° and 39 at the Alpena Regional Airport. Our readings here in the south are generally in the mid to upper 40s.
We can expect our pleasant temps to be around for the rest of the week on into the weekend with little or no rain in the forecast.
The Allegan County fair starts tomorrow. The fair has been around for over a 160 years, It has grown to become one of the largest fairs in Michigan. It all started in 1852, when Elisha Ely organized the the Allegan county Agricultural Society. By 1854 the fair was moved to “the flats” where then the board of Supervisors purchased 8 acres of fairground. In the year of 1889, the fair became the first and only fair to hold an evening fair. This meant that the fairground would be lit up by over 2000 candlepower arc lamps. Some of the headline attractions included The Great Houdini and the Wonderful Douglas, who buried a man alive. (hmmm, like to find out more on that one).
I wish we would have this weather year around. Light breeze, all sun, and dry air. I’ve done more outside this morning than I think I did in July and August combined. Now if the weed pollen would just go away.
You would not be living in Michigan anymore. But hey enjoy the don’t have to weather that is don’t have to have the air on and don’t have to have the heat on.

Wow, lows well down into the 40’s!
The low here at my house was 45° with clear skies the current temperature here in 46. With lows in the mid and upper 30’s in northern lower Michigan and this has happened before this early fall as well, just goes to show you just how cold Michigan really can get even in the warm season.
