Here we are coming into football season already, my favorite time of the year. I bleed BLUE, so go Wolverines! Actually I watch both teams and the Lions. You can click on the graphics below to enlarge them. Michigan plays Western on September 8th which should be an epic game – Western has been very proficient the past few years in playing Big 10 teams. Michigan plays the Badgers on October 13th – in the past Bill Steffen and I have bet a bag of Mezzos coffee on this game.

We should remain dry for both Monday and Tuesday with the next system coming in for Wednesday night into Thursday. The highest rainfall amounts should be from South Haven northeast toward Mt Pleasant by Thursday night. Both the GFS and ECMWF models have similar storm tracks so confidence is pretty high that we`ll see some rain from this. The training end of this system may linger through Saturday bringing temperatures down to near to slightly below normal. We may actually see our hot trend fading out after this week with cooler temperatures especially at night when temps could drop into the upper 40s to low 50s – great sleeping weather.
Below is an interesting graphic of the GFS total rainfall through the 29th.
It reached 87° here, but the humidity was low. A very nice day.
I think MSU and Blue will finish with 8 or 9 wins this year. Both are solid, but not as great as some years.
Another “cool down” the models just don’t see. The warm temps continue for another 2 weeks!

Just got off the roof at work, it’s going to be another steamer of a day. Dew point is creeping back near 70, yuck. I don’t think we’ve really had a “cool” night in 4 months now.
