We had .13 of an inch of rain over the past 24 hours. .03 was yesterday just after 7 am and another .10 before 7 am this morning. This brings our total to 1.93 for August thus far in the Otsego area. Of course, this summer rainfall totals have been quite variable across the area with the wettest being in the northern and southeastern parts of the state. Our next shot at rain won’t come until Saturday.

We are still months away from even traces of snowfall. I love this long summer!
Wow! Will this be our sunniest summer ever?
June – record 82% total sunshine,
July – very sunny 73% total sunshine
August – very sunny 73% total sunshine so far – a number that will surely be increasing this week.
The only source that I have indicates that 2006 was the sunniest met summer at Grand Rapids with 78.6% The 30 year June, July and August average is 65.0% so this year will be much sunnier than average.
