Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories

The Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 5pm today.  We have ice accumulating at this time – everything has a glaze of ice on it.  We could see up to a half an inch of this nasty stuff before it turns to rain then snow.

We had .95 of an inch of rain yesterday here in Otsego and .03 of frozen precipitation since midnight.   A good day to stay home until the freezing rain moves out of the area.

We have had a wet month with 2.58 inches of rain this far.

The early spring storm will continue through the day as a slow moving storm, centered to our south continues to slowly move east.

Significant accumulations of ice and sleet are expected this morning before temperatures warm enough to change the freezing rain to rain near and south of I-96. It will remain windy into this afternoon and temperatures will remain cold through most of this coming week. The precipitation should become all snow tonight and continue into Tuesday morning. Accumulations will be limited.

Start shining up your clubs and get out enjoy the SPRING by the end of the week! Directly from the latest GRR NWS discussion: One more potential (and likely final) bout of wintry weather arrives Wednesday night into early Thursday morning before we finally turn the corner toward a milder, more tranquil spring weather regime. Next weekend should be stark contrast to this weekend as highs flirt with 60 degrees. It`s still looking like a quiet and more average period setting up for the end of the week and next weekend as ridging at the sfc and aloft dominates. Temperatures… Read more »

Forget golf and enjoy WINTER! Directly form the GR NWS!

While precipitation is expected to be all rain is it develops
Wednesday, dynamic cooling and trowal/Fgen dynamics on Wednesday
night just north of the closed upper low will likely change precip
over to mostly wet snow. It`s possible we could see some localized
quick 2-4″ wet snow amounts overnight which could impact the
Thursday morning commute.

That slop will melt fairly quickly when temps reach mid to upper 40’s on Thursday!

Enjoy your near normal temps while you can! We are having one of the coolest Springs ever!

Cooler than normal temps in that timeframe are upper 50’s or lower 60’s. Enjoy skiing on grass! I’ll be golfing with upper 50’s and 60’s!

What a storm, what WINTER, what a Spring, what a Year! We are entrenched in a below normal temp pattern with no change in sight! Also GR is assured of finishing the year with above normal SNOWFALL! Who knew? Another BINGO! INCREDIBLE!

Not to bad of a drop! Didn’t hit anything this time, unlike last time when it smashed my daughters car.

Took several measurements on the deck, BBQ, and trees. My best estimate is 3/8″ of ice. Just started raining again, and it is still below freezing. 😯
