We have around 10 flower beds around the house and yard with many types of flowers – my wife tends to the flowers and I am the grounds keeper in charge of the lawns, fish pond and veggies. You can click to enlarge the images…

There is a lot of work involved in the summer months – I like to get the lawn work done in the morning after the dew has dried. I was running the chainsaw yesterday cutting up my old fence posts for firewood – very warm and humid day for that. Hardly a breeze yesterday and the temps got up to 89° – not a nice day for working outside.
As predicted, Lake Michigan defeated the storms moving in from Wisconsin last night. We currently have some showers and storms sweeping across the northern lower this morning. Most of these will stay north of I96. We could see a redevelopment of storms later this afternoon and evening in central and lower Michigan. Temps will remain in the mid to upper 80s right on through next week with chances of storms everyday.

MV your flower gardens are beautiful!! Ours are the same too. I have taken lots of photos too. Our tomato plants are doing super this year. The weather is perfect for them. My fushia baskets are doing good too. They can be fussy though. lol!!

Michael your flower garden is amazing. I went to a family members house to get different iris plants. I think I know have I will know have 6-8 different types of them now. I wish I had some stuff that was blooming now.
Next May they will be beautiful!

Probably the 5th or 6th time I have herd the major weather networks in GR say dieing out storms over lk Michigan since yesterday Emily on wood tv 8 just said today we are watching storms die out over the cool waters on lk Michigan as many call it the lk Michigan storm shredder is in effect…INDY!
90 degree temp being reported in southern Michigan before 1pm. Can you say hot?
This warmth is nothing compared to last Summer thank goodness already 3 months from today October who would of thought… Hunting season!! INDY .

No 90* degrees yesterday in GR Im thinking our last 90* degree day was around 90 days ago the streak continues!! Looks a little cooler today with all the clouds around …I had a double 8 yesterday out at thee YARDofBRICKS NE GR hopefully we get a Thunderstorm today …Have a good Friday..INDY..
Most Michigan locations made it into the 80’s yesterday with most in the mid to upper 80’s While there may have been more I know of 3 locations that reported a high of 90 Detroit Willow Run (not the official location for Detroit) Alpena and Traverse City (both Alpena and Traverse City can get very warm with a S or SW wind due to down slopping) At this time here at my house I have a reading of 75° with mostly cloudy skies.

Slim I only saw two official readings yesterday around the state TC and Alpena that was 90* after reading some of the post on here you would of thought it was 90* degrees everywhere in Michigan probably no 90*s today with east wind that wants to develop and the showers around..INDY!
There were plenty of 90’s on the NWS monitoring stations yesterday afternoon. Looks like more of the same today!
Since you brought this up why don’t you name the locations????

The Willow Run location west of Detroit reached 90 yesterday. And I am sure many backyard thermometers had readings of 90 or better and who knows maybe Mookie will provide us with a list of official locations that reported a high of 90 or better

lol I’m actually seeing the NWS station around Novi is already reporting 90 degrees today over on the east side! Obviously, those smaller stations don’t save their readings from the prior day, you know that.

We had several official 90 degree readings in Michigan yesterday and probably more today! A couple NWS locations in Southern Michigan are now less than a degree away from an above average June.
Getting a nice outflow coming thru here with a few sprinkles at this time. A rather warm night with a low here at my house of 67 the low at the airport looks to have been 68 the current temperature here at my house is 72 (it was 73 before the wind picked up) and it is getting somewhat dark to the west. There are showers and thunderstorms to the north and northwest with some lightning here in Michigan but a lot more on the other side of the lake. Other then the few sprinkles no rain here yet.
