The Sun Returns

Yesterday we reached 51° in Otsego with .52 of an inch of rain.  This is traditionally the weekend I climb up on the roof to install all the Christmas lights on the house, my wife puts lights on our split rail fence which spans our property on the south side.  All in all it looks pretty festive in our neighborhood when all the lights come on after Thanksgiving, not that a lot of people see them.  We live on a dead end road just off M89.  There were three of us who bought property down here in the 1990s when it was all woods and a two track.  We have lived down here long enough to see the trees we planted to replace the ones we had to cut down to put in houses grow full sized.

We are entering a tranquil weather pattern which should last through early next week, however we will still remain slightly below normal temperature wise through the holiday period with above normal precipitation.  The CPC released their December outlook yesterday, their guess is a 38% chance of above normal temps and near normal precip for the month.

Our next weather maker with come in the Tuesday/Wednesday time frame – this system is still in the guessing phase on how it will play out – we will have a better idea come Sunday/Monday….

How many times do I need to explain this to you Barry? The maps are just showing the 15 day gfs depiction! These only show trends and possible patterns! You don’t look at the totals just the trends and possibilities! Get with it Barry!

As are many times the case in November the clouds are hanging tough. At this time, it is still cloudy and 36 here at my house. Yesterdays H/L at Grand Rapids was 53/37 that 53 is the warmest so far this November and if that holds for the rest of the month it will be the 2nd coldest maximum for the month of November at Grand Rapids in recorded history. Also yesterdays 0.28” of rain brings the total at Grand Rapids this year to 45.92” and that is good for the 6th wettest year in recorded history here with just… Read more »
