First off – prayers for my grandson, James who was involved in a hit and run Friday. He and one of his friends were walking to the library in Allegan when a car hit them. They went to the hospital with bruises and scrapes but are otherwise fine though a bit sore – the driver of the car hasn’t come forth yet. Of course his parents and grandparents (myself included) are a bit P.O.d someone would drive off without stopping to see what they had done. Luckily both boys are strapping youths in their teens and are expected to recover fully.
Yesterday we managed to get to 84° for a high in Otsego. I was out cutting a few small trees which I needed to remove around the yard. My neighbor was clearing out an area for a pole barn in the woods next door. It was a good day for working up a good sweat for sure.
This is the SPC outlook for today, we are in the slight risk area for storms – at this point it looks to be mainly a wind threat, however we could see some scattered storms which produce some hail. The chance of a tornado is at about 2%. Rain should be around a quarter of an inch with locally heavier amounts when storms pass through. Monday temps will only be in the 50s behind the cold front.

The sky cleared here right before 4 PM and the sun was shining so we headed to the pet store to look & get a dog bed that needed to be replaced. While there I heard it raining heavily on the roof of the store. When we left the rain stopped and sky cleared – it passed thru quickly. It looked very stormy to the east with some clouds that were hanging low but no rotation. We got home & saw the warnings on tv for counties east of us. The evening here was pleasant but temps cooled off .
Prayers for your grandson and the other young man for a speedy recovery. I hope the driver comes forward. I have never understood how someone can do that and not care.
The line totally fizzled before it got here. A couple of sprinkles is all. No wind. No lightning.
Heads or Eyes up for the ISS…Skies Permitting .

Wow….. whoever is in charge of the emergency notification on TV, needs to update the almost-impossible-to-understand gibberish displayed on WOOD-TV for the Barry Co tornado warning. The warning tone was feeble and wavering: the voice was garbled. Surely in this day and age, when we could probably create a George Clooney CGI clone to catch our attention – an alert intended to save lives should be distinctly heard and easily read.
So glad your grandson is OK!
A nice windy thunderstorm has passed overhead, the temp dropped about 8 degrees; and now the sun is out! Looks like it will be a nice night.

Sorry to read about the Grandson…glad he’s in one piece. We remain weather free and storm proof…as usual. More “want” and “envy” than reality :/
I am happy to hear that James and his friend will be okay. That’s scary stuff right there.
Dew points already well into the 60s. Perhaps we will get some action this afternoon/evening. It’s been a long time, it seems, since I’ve had any storms to track.
Already trimming back on the slight risk area I’m thinking the next run Grand Rapids will be out of it …Cloudy and rain this morning is blowing our cover again and a cold lk Michigan No good …This is getting old…INDY!
It is 66 and cloudy here with some light rain. Off to our SE in lower Michigan it is clear and the temperatures are already in the low to mid 70’s but to our west it is cloudy and temperature are only in the 60’s. The high here at my house yesterday stopped at 76 but it did reach 78 at the airport.
Slim
Looks like your grandson and his friend were lucky they were not hurt real bad. As for car pedestrian accidents I have a issue that I will let you all know. My son was hit several years ago walking across the street. My son had the right of way the person who hit him was making a right turn. My son was taken to the hospital and has a sore leg. Now for the issue my car insurance covered MOST of his hospital bill.At the time he was over 21 and still living with me but at that time he… Read more »
