Forecast Discussion
Patchy dense fog this morning Locally dense fog has been on the increase early this morning. As we cool off another degree or two...this fog should expand. Eastern zones towards Jackson...Lansing and Mt Pleasant should see the thickest fog. Additional fog is possible Tuesday night as well. - Warming trend to continue into the weekend Many locations saw high temperatures reaching into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. The temperature at 925 mb climbs a few more degrees today into the low 20 deg C range. While low clouds may limit the heating somewhat...we should see max temps reaching into the low 80s for much of the week...maybe a few degrees higher toward the end of the week. With overnight low temperatures moderating...the average temperature will likely climb to above normal values by the end of the week. A cold front pushes through Saturday...so a slight cool down is predicted for Sunday. - Any thunderstorm activity to be isolated Mainly diurnally driven instability is shown each day. Little or no forcing is seen and some subsidence will exist. Any thunderstorm activity should be isolated through Friday. A cold front pushes through on Saturday. This will likely be our best chance for thunderstorm activity. Overall at this time the potential for severe weather looks low.
