The keyword for today and tomorrow is “pleasant” with temps at or slightly below normal for daytime highs. We are closing in on the peak of summer, the halfway point when we will see daylight slowly shorten and the heat of the day is reaching its apex.
Chances of rain are fairly slim over the next five days, there are outside chances of a stray shower or storm on Friday night but these won’t be wide spread.
Our best chances of rain (at the time of this forecast) will be next week as tropical storm two gains strength in the gulf, (there is a near 100% chance it will turn into a hurricane) then move northward into the Ohio Valley.
Above is the rainfall forecast from the National Hurricane Center showing Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas catching the brunt of it. This doesn’t bode well for those along the Mississippi and Missouri rivers which have had flood warnings in place for several weeks.
It was beautiful today. Got some much needed weeding done. This evening you could actually feel the chill in the air. It was refreshing.
Beautiful evening tonight. We had dinner on the back deck and just returned from a walk. Nicest evening in awhile.
Perfect Summer day outside almost cool in the shade with the winds out of the north ..INDY
You could actually feel the chill in the air. Nest week we will be wishing we had it.
With yesterdays high of 91 Grand Rapids now has had 4 official days of 90 or better. The mean for the last 30 is just 4 so GR has already made the 30 year average. One of the reason why days of 90 or better feel so hot to some is that we have so few on average here in Michigan. The range for July days of 90 or better has been from zero in (in the last 30 years) 2014,2009,2000, 1996,and 1989 with 18 being the most in 2012.
Slim
Looks like summer in GR will end up with above average 90 degree days. It should also be noted that GR has also had 4 days at 89. Which is basically 90 in my book haha
A single Summer day this year?…maybe. Downhill from here into Winter. Oh well, that’s life in the Southern Arctic.
Nope. We will soon have 20+ consecutive days over 80 degrees. Unbelievable!
What?? I don’t think so. LOL!!!
I saw lightning to the south of us last night…no rain here though.
Didn’t Rocky and Indy say last week that we were done for the 90’s for summer? Whoops!
What a difference today. Bye bye humidity.
Interesting name for tropical storm 2, aka Barry!
Heres the temp near Holland yesterday on my car. Not a big deal because we’ve already had many days over 90, but what is a big deal would be what time of the day it was. About 8:30 at night with almost zero breeze. Just smothering!

Wow GR hit 91 yesterday!
