With the weather being stagnant over the area and not much going on to talk about the rest of the week I think it is safe to say I can forego tomorrows post and let this one continue on for the next 48 hours. I have a lot to do the next couple days with my large family. The sad thing is Bill S. and I both lost our mothers this year so there will be an empty spot in the festivities.
Below are the weather extremes for Christmas day from the NWS:
We have enjoyed more sunshine the past few days than we did through most of November and December, however Christmas day and through most of the rest of the week the clouds will prevail once again. Temps will continue above normal through the rest of the year…
So, a Merry and safe Christmas to you all my friends and bloggers!
Unbelievable 59 degrees here! Didn’t think I’d ever see a Christmas this warm again. Lots of motorcycles out today, and even seen 2 corvettes on the road. Crazy!
54 degrees in GR! Incredible!! The forecasts were too cold once again.
That is good for the 3rd warmest Christmas in Grand Rapids recorded history. Here at my house I now have 59 will have to see what GRR has at 3PM

Merry Christmas!!!!
The GRR NWS for some reason keeps pointing out that this will not be a record warm Christmas. That said it very well could be a top 5 warmest. Here are the rankings for Grand Rapids 1. 65 in 1982 2. 57 in 1893 3. 50 in 1936. 4. 49 in 1932 and 1885. 5 46 in 2015.
At This time it is hazy and 29 here with a lot of frost. GRR reported temp is 35.

That is too cold for me! The ideal winter temps are in the upper teens to around 20 degrees, with fresh snow every day or two! I am thinking about moving to UP in a few years. Say around the Marquette area! That sounds like Heaven!
Or Painesdale??? They always have the most snow in Michigan every year!
There is a dandelion in bloom in yard this is the first time that I have seen one bloom this late in the season and no it is now on the south side of a building. This December will go into the record books as warmer then average will much less snow than average as at this time the mean at Grand Rapids is 30.8° and that is +0.6° there has been only 8.4” of snow 15.6” is average as of this date. At Muskegon the mean is at 31.4° while this is just a departure of +0.1° there has… Read more »

I hadn’t even thought of this until my wife brought it up yesterday, but we will be going into at least January before even getting the snowblower out of the barn and into the garage. In all the years we’ve had a blower, this will be far and away the latest ever getting it out.
I started mine back in November I have not used mine either. I shoveled by hand until just 3 or 4 years ago so not sure of the dates I first used my blower.

Merry Christmas! Could not ask for more outstanding weather than what we have now for this time of year!
