August is birthday month in my family, we celebrated five of them yesterday for my stepson, myself and three of the grandkids. We still have a couple for grandkids towards the end of the month. We distanced six feet apart around my stepsons’ yard and watched everyone open their presents.
Last week was my oldest granddaughters graduation from high school, we couldn’t be present for that because they had a drive-through graduation to get her diploma. She wants to go on to school in veterinary medicine. Good lord, I am getting old. My mother-in-law has been able to see her great-grandkids grow up and graduate which is quite a feat in itself.
Temperatures have fallen the past several days along the Lake Michigan Shoreline as winds have predominantly been from the north and east. The winds have pushed away warmer water that formed in the shallow areas along the shore, and allowed colder water from deeper parts of the lake to take it’s place. We expect temperatures to drop further Monday and Tuesday as northeast winds prevail.

It sure is a very chilly night out there. 59 degrees now with wind gust of 19 MPH. I was sitting outside talking with one olf my daughters and we had the garage door up to have good ventilation in there. It really got cold . It feels like Fall is in the air. I know we have plenty of warm weather still to come.

I turned 50 today. Our kids made me the best pancakes I have ever had. I am truly blessed.

There was a heavy but brief shower here yesterday at 730 PM that dropped 0.15″ of rain in about 20 minutes. What made this shower even more different was that during most of the time the sun was out. I looked for a rainbow after the shower and there was one but it was not a real good one. At this time it is cloudy and 63 here at my house.
