I am generally up before daybreak just when the birds burst into song greeting a new day. All the birds are back from their winter break down south. I have seen hummingbirds and Orioles at the feeders. I have also noticed a lot of bumblebees this spring.
We have our first tropical storm of the season which may threaten the outer banks of North Carolina. This is the NHC graphic of its predicted path.
We have a flood watch for most of the state which lasts through 11 am tomorrow. Most of the area could see up to three inches of rain from this system which is just starting to move in this morning. There is a chance of a storm later this afternoon.
Low pressure will bring heavy rain to Lower Michigan today and tonight. The rain will begin to taper off on Monday but showers will continue into Tuesday. Some flooding along rivers and streams is expected.
Southern Michigan mainly from GR to the south is in the marginal outlook for severe weather
.
Looks like another one inch today. Hoping it’s not another rain-out year as 2019 was. A cold summer is such a lousy loss of our already short lives. Leave The Southern Arctic…live happily ever after.
With heaver rain now falling I am now up to 1.16″

Yep slim, the backyard pond is back!
Thoughts on the summer outlook ? Will June be the opposite of May as in temps ?
Looking like another cooler spring and summer and then another warmer than normal winter, just like last year! Bring it!
Forget summer and bring on winter!
Heavy rain here now. It is a very wet day out there. The plants and grass are loving it.
Just went over an inch of rain so far, temp up to a wet and humid 57. As for the tropical storm, I thought the new season started on June 1? Or do they start over with the alphabet on January 1? Seems a bit early to be getting storms already.
It looks like the names start with the new year. I am at 0.75″ here with a temperature of 55. It has been a long time since we have had a all day rain event.

Wet…
Looks like there could be a lot of rain on tap for today. That means more grass cutting in the coming days. That will make a lot of exercise for some of us. Here at Grand Rapids there have only been 3 days that the mean temperature has been above average and for the month the mean is now at 49.2° and that is a departure of -7.0. At this time there is light rain falling and the current temperature here is 53°

It has been a very cold Spring! Maybe next winter will follow this pattern with tons of snow!
