Dependent on where you are today we have a little (or a lot ) of every thing going on -rain, hail, sleet, storms and snow.
The areas in blue are under a winter weather advisory until 1pm today for mixed precipitation. Wet snow accumulations of up to one half inch and ice accumulations of a light glaze are expected.
The areas in northern Michigan (in pink) heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 8 to11 inches, with localized amounts up to 16 inches, are expected. A winter storm warning is in effect until 8am tomorrow.
A light mix of precipitation is expected this morning. Then after a lull from late morning into early afternoon, precipitation will resume and be greater in coverage and intensity. Scattered thunderstorms are also expected this afternoon and evening mainly south of I-96. Precipitation will transition to all snow tonight with the greatest accumulations from US-10 northward. Lingering lake effect snow will end Wednesday afternoon. Winter-like temperatures will return after Wednesday with highs only in the lower to mid 30s into the weekend.
Temperatures in Gaylord will struggle to 32° today with Grand Rapids in the mid 30s and Kalamazoo reaching the low 40s. The upper peninsula will be in the 20s. Severe weather should stay south of the state mainly in the Ohio Valley.

We had plenty of rain and thunder. One struck very close out back. That got everyone’s attention. Wake up this morning to let the dog out, and the ground is covered in snow. Old girl seemed as befuddled as me.

At my house today I have seen pouring rain, hail, thunder and lightning. The heavy rain coming down the downspouts caused foam on lawn and mud to run down the hill. It seemed rather dark all day. I hear all this is going to clear out tomorrow afternoon. 🙂

Eating supper and it was so dark we had to turn the lights on. Couple rounds of thunder, and then just a torrential downpour along with about 5 minutes of pea size hail. Looked pretty crazy bouncing all over the place. First thunder I’ve heard since January and February!

The model ensemble runs this morning have us back in above average temps in 9 days time. That would mean at least mid to upper 50’s!

February was warm, indeed.
By that time the average high is in the upper 50’s so I would hope to see highs in the mid 60’s
