Another Sunny Day

A warming trend is expected through next week, along with fairly settled weather. A slight chance of rain/snow is in the forecast for tonight into Saturday, mainly near US-10. Monday brings a slight chance of rain to more of Lower Michigan, but any rain that falls is expected to be light.

Forecast Discussion

-- Light snow possible north of Muskegon early Saturday --

High pressure will dominate the weather pattern through the
weekend as it settles over the Michigan/Indiana/Ohio region.
This high pressure will allow for mid level drying due to a
positively tilted trough that will extend through most of the Mid
Atlantic and the Southern Great Lakes. The sole exception is a
weak area of low pressure emanating from an upper level trough at
500 mb. This trough has just enough moisture and instability to
bring clouds through northern Lower Michigan Friday night into
Saturday. Along with this will be a chance for snowfall along and
north of a line from Muskegon to Alma. Latest HREF shows that
while there should be enough moisture for precipitation, any
accumulation chances continue to dwindle with any chances for snow
accumulations should be north of US 10. The precipitation that
lingers into early Saturday morning will quickly transition to
rain.

-- Dry weather ahead as warming continues --

A respite from the wet weather is upon us. An upper level ridge
will build over the region Sunday into Monday that will only
strengthen the mid to lower level high pressure. This will allow
for mainly dry weather through the end of next week with high
pressure dominating the Great Lakes. The temperatures will be
colder then normal today but will continue to build with Max
temperatures possibly upwards of 20 degrees above normal by the
end of the upcoming week. This will be due to the before mentioned
high pressure along with 850mb temperatures that should warm from
around zero C on Saturday to around +10 C by Wednesday and
Thursday of next week. That warmth aloft translates into surface
high temperatures warming from the 50s to the 60s this weekend and
into the 70s next week.

Oh yes, if it hits the mid to upper 60’s many will be complaining that it is too hot and humid and the AC will be cranking at full tilt! Too funny!

Give 100 plus inches of snow every year, but it is time to transition to golf and put the skis away! Incredible!

I think next week looks like the nicest since mid-September, when you factor in the length/strength of sun, clear skies, and light winds. I’ll be trying to enjoy my time outside as much as possible!

Also Easter Sunday looks amazing! I remember many years where Easter feels more like late winter than spring

Slim

After a cold start this morning the next week looks to be mostly sunny with a warm up and it could become much above average by late next week. So some warm spring weather is on its way.
