As I said yesterday, this week will be more of copy and paste weather for the week. For a meteorologist, it is hard to suppress the yawns trying to find something to entice excitement out of a weather report. Sorry folks, there isn’t anything there except high-pressure domination for the rest of the week with temps in the low to mid-70s. On the other hand, this isn’t a thing to whine about, it doesn’t get much better than this for late September!
Yesterday’s high temp was 78° the low was 59.5°.
The CPC gives us great chances of above-normal temps with below-normal precipitation through the second week of October which the main concern is increasing drought conditions in the state.
We aren’t suffering as much of a good portion of the U.S. in the drought department.
Forecast Discussion
Upper low digs in across the Northeast CONUS next few days with narrow upper ridge axis building just west of the central Great Lakes. At the surface, high pressure center over eastern Canada feeds dry easterly flow into Lower Michigan. Dry weather persists into the weekend when the upper ridging breaks down and flow goes more southerly with return flow moisture bringing a chance of showers on Saturday and into early next week.
This is the “grace period” to finish all outdoor items for the year. Racing around clearing projects from sun up to sun down :/
I was busy splitting plants and finding new homes for some…
Seems to be a trend where late September and early October are becoming warmer. This year looks no different.
The overnight low here at my house was 51 the official overnight low looks to be 50 at GRR. Yesterdays high of 79 was a tie with 6 other years for the 13th warmest for the date. So far this September mean is 66.0 and that is a departure of +1.9. it will end up in the top half but will have to wait to see just where. At this time it is clear here and 53.

Anyone have the # of above/below average days for September? Definitely seems to be lopsided towards the above average side again for the month.
The count as of this AM is 19 above and 8 below. So all in all a very warm September.

Wow, yesterday was +11 degrees above average. A daily average of 70 degrees which was warmer than many days in July and August.
The next 2-4 weeks look like a bullseye for us for warm weather continuing. I love it!
The northern plains are hot right now with high temp records in jeopardy. 80s and 90s throughout the Dakotas.
