Above Normal Temps

Not much to say about our forecast today as we continue with our fairly boring pattern through the rest of the week, no storms snow or thunder in the near future anyway.  We do anticipate a warming trend into the 50s this weekend.

Another trend towards springtime is the delivery of various seed catalogs in the mail which gets me hankering to start figuring what I am going to order and plant this year.  Potatoes and onions along with other hardy root vegetables can be stuck into the ground now as long as they are covered overnight.  My most anticipated of course are tomatoes which will have to wait for another month or so.

We have a fairly quiet weather pattern next few days with chances for light precipitation later today and into Wednesday then again Thursday afternoon into Friday morning.

Below is the current long-range outlook:

A few items on a Tuesday morning. There was a fantastic red sunset last night. At this time it is cloudy here with a temperature of 35. While there is a good chance of more snow this winter season yet but at this time the total of 48.5″ would place this winter in the 3rd least snowy winter at the new location of the airport (1963) at this time the least snowy winter seasons are 1982/83 35.9″. 1986/87 47.6″ and 1979/82 48.5″ Unless GRR reports more then 2.7″ in March or April this winter will tie for 3rd place and… Read more »

Nice stats! Yes, the sunset last night was spectacular! What made it look so cool here was the cloud line was just to our NW, so there was partly clear skies, and then the sun illuminating the clouds from underneath. Looked like the horizon was on fire!

I am up in Petoskey for a few days, enjoying the great skiing at Nubs Nob! High temps all week will be in the low to mid 30’s and the skiing is incredibly fantastic! Who would have thought with all the warm weather hype on this blog? Forget Spring and drive up to snow country and enjoy winter in MI baby!

Wait, you mean it’s colder when you drive hundreds of miles north? LOL
