This is the time of year I become restless and eager to start outside projects. I have two porches and a shed to build this spring. I love this kind of work working with wood and tools. I prefer to do these things myself as contractors can be expensive. I used to do roofs but now I am hesitant to do that by myself because it is hot nasty work for an old fart like myself. Building things with your hands is becoming a lost art as is cooking without the use of a microwave. I can whip up a mean batch of homemade chicken noodle soup, enough to feed 20 people.
Today will not be good for outside work as we will have some rain and snow showers developing this morning lasting throughout most of the day. The snow showers will be mainly north of I96 and a mix south – little or no accumulation is expected in SW Michigan. Tomorrow the sun will return and last through the weekend with warmer temps in the upper 40s to the 50s dependant where you live…
The U.P. has winter storm warnings in place for up to a foot of snow…

No – We could still see a snow storm till April. I have seen 2 snow storms the first week of April. It made for a very snowy spring break here.

Bright sun again this morning, nice to be seeing it a lot more lately. Does anyone have the stats for February regarding the amount of sun we had? It was pretty cloudy the first half but seemed to clear up more towards the end.
At GRR the reported for February is 37% of possible sunshine. With 16 cloudy days. 8 partly cloudy days and 5 clear days. For the past meteorological winter at GRR 22% of possible sunshine 61 cloudy days 23 partly cloudy and 7 clear.

For meteorological winter, I saw Bill posted that we were only -4% off the average sun. This is way better than where we were standing in January, so we’ve definitely had above average amounts of sun lately.
February had more sun then did December and January. And the start of March has been rather sunny as well.
