Now we know what it would be like to live in the SW U.S. with all the dry weather and sunshine. I can’t imagine being a Met out there presenting the same forecast over and over again week in and week out.
Dry weather is expected through Saturday morning with high temperatures in the 70s. Temperatures cool off a little next week but it will still be fairly mild for the time of year.
We will close out the month of September on a dry note and bring in October with much of the same. Rainfall was below normal in our area coming in at 2.16 inches and of course, temps should come in above normal once again.
Yesterday’s high temp was 75° with a low of 47°.
Forecast Discussion
Upper low over northeast CONUS moves east and ridging across the Great Lakes flattens out by Saturday. Showers arrive late Saturday as return flow moisture and surface cyclogenesis move in from the west. Complex pattern develops by early next week with a new wrinkle being the evolution of an upper low that models now show diving south rather than moving east or remaining over the region. This means precip should end early next week rather than lingering into the middle of the week as seemed the case 24 hours ago. So we expect fair weather Tuesday and Wednesday as the Great Lakes are in between the upper low to the south and the strong belt of westerlies to the north across central Canada.
Great news! All signs point towards a rocking winter with tons of snow! I love it and bring it on!
I am in Bay City. My mother in law passed away. So we will be up here for several days.
