Winter Weather Advisory North

We had a low temp of 22° overnight and temps are slowing rising this morning in advance of a system to our southwest which will be overspreading the state this morning.

We have expectations of a touch of winter in the state today with snowfall accumulating in the upper-lower where there is a Winter Weather Advisory in place for up to four inches of snow.  Snow is expected to overspread northern Michigan this afternoon through early evening, falling most steadily/widespread mid-late evening. Rain mixes in first near the coasts during the overnight hours and gradually across the remainder of northern MI through early Wednesday morning.

For SW Michigan we have a chance of snow showers between 9am and 10am, then rain and snow showers. High near 37. South southeast wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

For tonight we will have rain and snow showers, becoming all rain after 8 pm. Temperature rising to around 40 by 2am. South southeast wind 6 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

For the Kalamazoo area we should see around a half inch of snow changing to rain with rain acumulations around a quarter inch during the daytime hours.  To get the forecast for your area go to the main Forecast page.

Just ended a heavy bust of snow fall here. I have a total of 0.75″ of snow on the snow board. I was in the south side of town and there was a lot less snow there then here.

Wow, snow lovers better enjoy this little burst because the new CPC is calling for a long spell of warmth and dry air after today.

What little snow we had has now switched over to light rain/mist. Love it when we get snow that doesn’t even last for half a day!

Definitely has some potential. The cold air will be in place, so now let’s hope the disturbance intensifies and just hammers us!

Yes just looking at the lastest GFS model you can definitely see La Nina pattern setting up shop over the great lakes looks very stormy ahead going into December if it holds ….Let it snow let it snow let it snow all the way to April…INDY

Pretty decent snowfall rate right now… sadly it looks like it won’t last for long and a transition to rain will occur this afternoon. Definitely makes things feel more like Christmas than Thanksgiving.

Well for cold and snow lovers the new updated long range guess from Paul Pastelok at Accuweather will be a major set back if it plays out. “Northeast, mid-Atlantic, Great Lakes, eastern Ohio Valley – The La Nina pattern eases early to midmonth with the southern branch stronger as an upper high pressure area builds from the Canadian and Rockies to the central Prairies forcing a storm track south. As cold fronts move swiftly in the north with less precipitation, the southern storms will move slower and bring wetter conditions. Occasionally we will have a merge of the two storm… Read more »

Same here. Snow is sticking to the usual colder objects, like wood chips and cars. But otherwise travel looks fine besides some wet spots.

Nice to see the snow systems once again avoiding our area. Sunday’s was well to the SE, today is well to our N. Good pattern to be in again. Yesterday afternoon was nice out. Got the mower out hopefully for the last time to trim up some scraggly spots in the yard. Mowing into December just gets annoying because then you’re only a couple months from starting all over again.

I had a overnight low of 23 here it looks like the overnight low at the airport was 24. At this time it is cloudy here with a temperature of 31.
