After a nice sunny day yesterday the snow will move back into SW Michigan – nothing like my friends out east in New England will get today. Maine will get another foot to 17 inches on top of the two feet the received last week. Sugarloaf mountain north of Kingfield has 36 inches of snow on the ground with 26 inches falling in the past 7 days. Sugarloaf is the largest ski area east of the Rockies with over 1000 skiable acres. You don’t hear much of the snow issues they have been having out in the north east with the exception of Boston and New York. New England handles their snow fall well.
Nothing like that round here. If we received the snow they get in New England people would be huddled in place in their homes. Low pressure will move across Lower Michigan today bringing light snow which will transition to snow showers near Lake Michigan tonight and on Tuesday. Not expecting much more than a dusting to an inch. After our cool spell this week we should see quite a bit of sunshine over next weekend and temperatures will be in the 50s thanks to the upper flow becoming more zonal after the upper trough exit.
Multiple snow chances will be coming up int he next 2 weeks! Get ready!

No 50’s for awhile.. INDYDOG14!
No single digits or negative temps for at least 8 months! Amazing!
ADA – 1/2 inch of snow overnight. A 50 degree day here and there amounts to nothing, relative to the overwhelming cold through March and April. Spring?…none.
Very fitting. After a very average winter in terms of snowfall and temps, we are having a very average March so far. Looks warmer upcoming though!
No signs of 60’s anytime soon! indydog14!
The average high is 42
Very cloudy here. It feels colder than yesterday.
Just took a snow fall measurement and here at my house I have 0.75” of snow fall. For March Grand Rapids is just below average temperature wise at -0.5° and the seasonal snow fall is (before todays snow) was 71.0” Looking ahead there are indications that the rest of March and into at least the start of April might be on the cold side.

Fine with me, we’re going to be in Florida the first week of April, looking nice and warm down there!
This cool March is the best thing for the fruit crop in Michigan… Not seeing no really big warm ups now to maybe next week.. INDYDOG14!
Agree INDY. We need the slow transition to spring. I know some apple farmers and they prefer the 40’s and 50’s in March.
What a storm!!! Just wondering if that half inch of snow we got will be melted by noon today?? Gonna have to get my shovel out to scrape that water off my driveway!
