Weekend Forecast

We have another ho-hum day in store for today, which is a good thing if you like sunny comfortable weather.  We are starting this morning at 52° at 6 am.  Sunrise is 6:47 and sunset is 8:50 pm.  Yesterday our high was 78° and the low was 60°.

Highs today will be in the 70s which is a tad cooler than normal under a partly to mostly sunny skies. Clouds will increase tonight into Saturday ahead of low pressure passing by to our southwest. Rain showers and a few thunderstorms are expected Saturday into Saturday night. Rainfall amounts of 0.50 to 1.00 are possible between Saturday morning and Sunday morning.

Forecast Discussion

High pressure will continue to build in today and bring fair wx
with seasonable high temps in the mid to upper 70`s. Skies are
mostly clear early this morning and optimal for Perseid meteor
viewing. Rgnl IR sat trends do show a fair amount of high cloud
cover over the upper Midwest which will begin to drift in from
the wnw later this morning and through the afternoon.

The low pressure system heading ese toward our area tonight will
cause clouds to increase. Showers are forecast Saturday as a
result of increasing moisture and isentropic upglide and moderate
1000-850 mb moisture transport with that system. Some embedded
convection is also possible mainly late Saturday into Saturday
evening on the nose of a 25 kt llj. However overall convective
potential will be mitigated significantly by lack of instability
and lack of stronger forcing for convective initiation to occur.

The weather from Sunday through early next week looks predominantly
dry with seasonable temperatures. However a cutoff upper low
which will develop over the northeastern CONUS early next week may
retrograde westward sufficiently enough by mid to late week for
our area to see some scattered showers associated with that
feature.

It was a chilly night last night. We had 40s and even some 30s across our northern zones. Leota fell to 36 and Baldwin 38

It still feels nice and warm with the strong sun. I definitely could get used to 70s and low humidity all year
