Forecast Discussion
We begin a warming trend today in the 60s and in the 70s tomorrow through Friday. There will be chances of rain tonight through Friday.
- Scattered Showers Tonight, Chance of Showers Thursday Conditions will be cry much of the day as surface and upper-level ridging set up across West Michigan. A warm front is forecast to lift north today stalling near I94 tonight. Isentropic ascent will lead to scattered showers, mainly near and south of I94. MUCAPE values of a few hundred joules could support some isolated thunder potential. Exact placement and timing of precipitation is limited due to lack of distinct forcing, and this is reflected in CAM solutions. An approaching shortwave may lead to showers across the area Wednesday Night/Thursday, with the best chance north due to a weak surface low across Lake Superior. NAM MUCAPE progs show that again isolated thunder is possible. - Increased Rain Chances and Warming Late Week A mid-level wave will drive a surface low through the Mid Mississippi valley into the Ohio Valley Thursday Night into Friday. This forcing will lead to increased potential for showers and thunderstorms across West Michigan. Strong warm air advection will lead to highs well into the 70s across lower Michigan. Some parts of southern Michigan will lead to highs making a run towards 80 degrees. Conditions then dry out for the weekend as surface and upper-level ridging sets up.

Hard to believe there are parts of the state still with a deep snowpack (UP). It was a great season for winter sports for the state. If you didn’t have a ton near you.. you certainly didn’t need to drive far to have it. However people up near Gaylord had it rough and I’m sure they are ready for spring. Things are blooming nicely around here
It was a very weak winter for most of Southern Lower Michigan. I loved it.
Great winter for sports! Gaylord had nearly 200 inches of snow, yet some people said MI had a mild winter! Colder than normal with tons of snow for sports! Incredible! I was skiing and snowshoeing for months on end!
Also GR had way more snow than the prior year! Fantastic!
We truly have the best weather in the country from mid/late April to mid/late October!
Another perfect day for golf! It looks like April will end up warmer than average!
MANY, MANY, MANY golf days ahead! March was way above average temps with no snow! Now April will end up with above average temps and no snow!
I love long springs!!

Winter died sometime in Mid February this year. Fantastic!
This is a great time of year. Lawn is green and needing to be mowed often. Leaves are popping. Mornings are cool (and sunny!) and the afternoons are warm. Enjoy this, as the heat and humidity of summer is just over the horizon.
