Though it has been warm the humidity levels has been low so very pleasant weather continues. We had a low of 49 yesterday and 52 this morning in Otsego. I washed the siding on the north side of my house yesterday to get the algae growth of the siding. I have to do this once a year – seems it was thicker this year due to the humidity we have had.
Our dry pattern continues with the next chance of rain on Tuesday though there will be trace amounts. The best chance comes on Thursday but still not seeing much more than a quarter inch from that system. Not much more to say with not much happening around Michigan.

Yikes! Looks like the a/c will be working overtime this week again. I know it’s summer but really.
We will be working on day 12 for the summer in the 90s to start the week. Surpassing last year already.
Will it hit 90 degrees in GR tomorrow? Will it hit 90 degrees in GR the rest of this summer?
Yeah, probably!

You really need to stop asking that. Seems like everytime you do we get smoked with another blast furnace type heat.
While it was much warmer last night than the night before there were non the less some very cool readings here in Michigan once again. Here are some of colder over night lows around the state.
Ann Arbor 44°
Grayling 42°
Flint and Marshall 50°
The low of 54 here in Grand Rapids on Saturday morning was the coolest low here since June 6th when the low as 48°

Yes we are in a cool stretch, however mookie will say we are in a 10 heat wave! What a joke!
A cool stretch?? It was barely below normal temps yesterday and the day before. So that’s below normal for 2 out of the last 11 days! With today being above normal and above normal temps projected all week, I would say we’re in an INCREDIBLE stretch of above normal temps!! You should probably stick to winter trolling you’re way better at that!
Ikr Andy. Sad some dont get it. Goes right over there head. 🙂
Are we heading towards a “front loaded” summer??? there are indications that we are heading towards a major cool down the 2nd half of July. If this happens we could end up with a front loaded summer. So enjoy these sunny warm days we are now getting.

I love it – Andy is talking WINTER in July! INCREDIBLE!
You know it!! WARM winters with BELOW normal snowfall are my favorite!!
Sounds great and bring on those cool temps! I love it!
Where are all the thunderstorms??? So far this summer Grand Rapids has only had 4 thunderstorms (as reported by the NWS) and that seems like a stretch. The official NWS total for this year is just 13 with 1 in January 0 in February and March 1 in April a reported 7 in May (see Junes comment) This is now the 2nd summer in a row with a low number of thunderstorms as all of last summer only 20 where reported it may be hard to reach that many this summer.

Are we heading towards a drought? On our trip to Alpena for my brother in laws funeral I noticed on how dry it was up there in town the lawns were brown everywhere and I now see that since June 4th Alpena has only had 0.38” of rain. Note they did have 0.16” on Thursday with a thunderstorm (see next post) And now looking at the Grand Rapids area we have only had 0.89” of rain since June 10th and not much is expected in the next week or so. That means more brown lawns in our area as well and a trend towards some big temperature swings (hot days cool nights)

I mentioned this previously. We’ve had less than 2″ of rain since May. It is getting crispy here.
