The terminology for an unsettled weather pattern is simply put “not staying the same”. This week will feature the possibility of seeing some sun tomorrow with the rest of the forecast fairly dismal with rain and/or snow the rest of the period.
All of the snow is gone in Otsego having melted yesterday with temps near 40°. The 8 to 14 day CPC guess is for a 77% chance of above-normal temps and 45% chance of above-normal precipitation. Normal high temps for SW Michigan is around freezing.
The system of note will be coming Wednesday/Wednesday night as the uncertainty of the track is not yet engraved in stone – we could see a freezing rain/snow mix.
What do we have here? No way will GR be seeing 4 inches of snow. More like and inch or so with a lot of rain mixed in! Incredible!
Im going to hold off on my excitement until the morning… hopefully the system trends a little further south. There is still plenty of time to catch up on our snowfall deficit. Maybe this is the beginning 😀

Well, it looks like warm temps and mainly rain this week. Wake me up when winter starts lol I love short winters!
No snowstorms are in sight for GR. Will this end up as one of the lowest seasonal snowfall ever or will this winter end up backloaded with tons of fun later this season? Rock n Roll will never die!
A few days ago you attempted to argue snow and cold were coming. Whoops!

Over night there was some light rain (0.03″ here) and a whopping trace of snow fall. So on the morning of December 28, 2020 Decembers official snow fall at Grand Rapids is now 1.2″ the total for the season remains at 1.6″ That is 25.2″ below average.
