As most of you know I am and always have been a fan of Wolverine football and yesterdays game did not disappoint. State made a gallant effort and the game may have taken a different turn if the rainy conditions continued throughout the whole game. Michigan’s defense is just to overpowering holding the Spartans to just 94 yards. The final score was 21-7 in Michigan’s favor. Hopefully the Wolverines can hold out to win the Big 10 conference title.
We had some wild weather across the state yesterday. The game yesterday had an hour and 20 minute lightning delay in the first quarter. There was a little of everything, lightning, rain, hail, wind with gusts over 50mph and even some snow. We had some gusts here which caused the leaves to come off the trees and fill the air.
With a high temperature of 52.2° at 11:30am we fell to 34.7° by sunset. We picked up .29 of an inch of rain here in Otsego at the station. Below are my CoCoRaHS rainfall reports for the month:

Today will be a calmer, gentler day, lake effect clouds should give way to some sunshine later in the day, however temps will only get into the mid 40s. Most of the week will remain dry with the exception of slight chances late Monday into Tuesday with another clipper system which may generate some lake effect showers.
Most of the week will remain cool with temps in the 40s and 50s. Even with the below normal temps over the past couple weeks we are still about 1° above normal for the month. The cool below normal temps should continue on into the first week of November and perhaps on to mid month. The latest from the CPC is giving us a 33% chance of above normal temps for November and a 40% chance of above normal for November, December and January.
You know I am not one who gets up early and thus it is sometimes a struggle for me to get up for my CoCoRaHS reports. But I do stay up late and seeing that Michael puts his reports in around midnight I think I will switch my and put my in after midnight to register for the next day. I think that will work out good for me.
The current temperature at my house is 38 the low here was 36. Here in the NW side of GR there are still a lot of leaves on the trees yet that is even after the the hard freeze last week.
