Not sure about my title this morning but stay with me I will come to terms with it. I think I have created a new idiom. We have all heard of the saying ‘short end of the stick’ which means a situation, opportunity, or outcome which is less favorable than situations, opportunities, or outcomes experienced by or available to others. In many cases, the stick may be long so those who got the short end of it at one time may have to climb further up the stick to achieve their due. Many times this is due to the achievement of an individual who wants to better themselves. Other times some are happy in their condition so they continue on in their lives. Most of the time voices must shout out their discontent in peaceful protest to be heard. We are all granted that right in this great nation of ours. We also have the right to stand as equals one and all. We are all humans regardless of race or gender. So I guess it is my opinion to remove the stick and create a level playing field for all people.
These quiet weather days bring forth the rants seen above as there isn’t much to speak of otherwise. We have been granted another stormless year with few if any watches and warnings, so I suppose we have been shown the short end of the long stick in this respect which is a good thing as far as the destruction and mayhem they cause.
We have a 60% chance of storms later tonight into Wednesday morning. Otherwise, we remain in our warm pattern right into August. Temperature-wise we have reached the midpoint of summer. Normal temps are in the low 80s.

I fully support all peaceful protests and protesters and I am totally against our governments rogue violence against protesters, especially the so called police that don’t even have proper identification! No, this is America not some authoritarian communist country! Despicable and it must be stopped! Does anyone out their remember Kent State University and Nixon’s murders? Disgraceful!

Yes, I remember Kent State. I also remember Selma, Alabama along with the white and colored “bathrooms” and sections of restaurants in the south. I am not sure what is happening in Portland or why it is happening in Portland. I do not like people that are rioting and looting but using so called federal “agents” is very scary. Here is why they are there Slim, apparently some federal properties were vandalized and damaged in the ongoing riots.
What are they protecting?
Federal officers are protecting federal property and personnel in downtown Portland including the Mark. O Hatfield federal courthouse, Pioneer Courthouse, the Edith Green-Wendell Wyatt Federal Building and Terry Schrunk Plaza. Local federal officers don’t have enough people to secure all federal buildings.
“We needed some assistance and got that assistance,” said Billy Williams, U.S. Attorney for Oregon.
I am still do not think it is as clear cut as you think. I still not convinced just “who” is behind the looting anywhere in the US. As for Mr Williams here is a quote from him.
