We have about 8.5″ on the ground, which means we received roughly 6″ yesterday. Oh, and my new Cooper tires are awesome in the snow. 🙂
Snow stopped here about an hour ago. We go about 6 inches or so. It is so cold out is an understatement. Great weather for snowmen. LOL!!

We have at least 6 inches here and no sign of letting up. Worried about daughter coming home from work at 8 pm.
Just shoveled off the deck so the dog could go out and do her business. We have 7″ on the ground, so we have received a bit more than 4″ today, and it appears we could get one or two more before it’s done. Nice storm. Best we’ve had in a year. Snowblower works like a champ.
Rock On mark!
All winter sports are in full action by mid December this year including cross country skiing! What a great start to winter!
What a storm and more SNOW is rotating down right at us! We may see 4 to 6 more hours of SNOW! Keep it coming!
The latest NAM (18Z) still looks AWESOME!

Not sure this event deserved a warning. WWA? Yes. WSW? Not even close.
In the Northern half of Kent County it is definitely A WARNING! We will be seeing 7 to 9 inches of SNOW and the roads are horrendous and dangerous! Great job by the NWS! Mark it down!
The warning is a perfect call in my area! Over 6 inches and still coming down.
There is no sign of any let up! Winter is here and the SNOW is going to keep coming on a regular basis! It does not get better than this!

Hope everyone is enjoying the snow that took its sweet time getting here!
I knew when we were downgraded to advisory we would get the snow. It is snowing pretty good here.
Snowing in Portage pretty good right now. I think asst my home in Grand Haven too.
I just took a snow fall amount. so far today here at my house I am now at 3.3″ for today and now have just over 6″ on the ground and at this time getting moderate to at times heavy snow fall with visibility at around 0.25 miles
Over 4 inches now out at thee YARDofBRICKS snowing very hard lk enhance .. take it slow out on the roads thank you INDYDOG
Well day #2 under whatever watch or warning, and we have yet to pick up an entire inch of snow yet! It snowed for about a half an hour earlier this morning, not a flake since. I’m surprised they didn’t cancel school again just for the heck of it.
Snowing pretty heavy here. You must have a bubble over there. LOL!
The dreaded dry slot. Not sure if you saw my comment at the end of yesterday’s post, but the Detroit NWS was talking about it in their morning forecast discussion. We received about 2″ and it hasn’t snowed in well over a hour. It seems we generally only get 2-3″ with these Alberta Clippers.
Ha ha that did not last long snowing harder then this morning out at thee YARDofBRICKS .. thank You INDYDOG!!
Dry slot! A whole inch or two for GR so far is all.
The snow has stopped here. So far I have 1.5″ of new snow and now have 4.7″ of total snow on the ground. So far this event has under performed and here in Grand Rapids might have a hard time reaching the 5″ of new snow mark.
Slim

Wow, what a storm! It looks the NAM model had it correct! WSW for Kent County! INCREDIBLE! Just think some people are still saying it could be a winter like last year. We will be getting hammered this winter!
This winter GRR before today has had 6″ of snow fall. Last year on this date the total snow fall at Grand Rapids was 24.5″ on its way to a December total of 37.0″ At Lansing this year the total reported snow fall is now at 3.5″ Last year on this date the total was 12.4″ heading to a total of 16.1″ so yes this year in not like last year.
Slim
If anything, the winter this year is even worse for snow lovers so far.
The snow fall has now picked up in intensity it is close to moderate in intensity and with a temperature of 19° the snow will not have a problem acclaiming on both the ground and untreated roads (even treated roads will become snow covered) I know some areas near the lake received a good amount of snow yesterday but here in Grand Rapids the official amount was reported at just a trace. In Muskegon they reported just over a half inch at .6” and in the center of the state Lansing had just under a half inch coming in a… Read more »
