Severe Weather Awareness Week

Yesterday you may have heard your city sirens go off at 1 pm for the Michigan Statewide Tornado Drill.  Due to Covid, we haven’t had our Skywarn classes across the state which teaches pretty much all the aspects of storm safety.  I have the Skywarn booklet here for you to read.  The page also includes the different cloud types and a county map for Michigan.

The emergency preparedness kit checklist can be found here.

A few rain showers will be possible today. The best chance early this morning will be north of I-96. The best chance this afternoon will be south of I-96. Friday looks mainly dry with some sunshine and mild temperatures. Rain moves in Friday night.

I hope the sun shines tomorrow. It does help. Yesterday we actually went for a walk and sat outside. From what I am hearing from others some people need to realize they have to stay home. We have not been anywhere in over 2 weeks. Too much risk. Our kids call & check on us and leave stuff on the porch. Take care. Stay home, Stay safe.

Breaking news! Winter is over, skiing is done! I would strongly suggest forgetting about golf for at least 2 months!

I agree. This is not going to go away by Easter. At this time Michigan has the nations 4th most cases. That should change later when the state of Washington reports. Here in Kent County the number is now at 41 confirmed. And you know there are a lot of sick people that are not getting tested.

The USA has more cases than any other country on earth. We need to eliminate this virus. That should be the #1 priority for all earthlings.

Back to the weather. Since we are stuck at home, it would be nice if we had some thunderstorms. Hopefully we have more action (nothing too severe, of course) than we had last year.

Of course it is not going away by Easter! This a national emergency and the only hope is too stay at home and not risk catching or spreading the disease! It will still be getting worse by Easter. This may take 2 to 3 months and if anyone is trying to tell you any different they are living in a total fantasy World!

The sun was so nice yesterday afternoon/evening. Looks like clouds through the weekend. Need more sun. Too much doom and gloom right now.
