Same Old Story

There is no fun weather to report here once again.  The warm dry pattern continues through the week.  There may be a bit of hope for some rain (according to the CPC) next week.

Yesterday we had a high of 92° and the low was 58.

Weather History

1886: A swarm of tornadoes hits southern Lower Michigan from late morning into the early afternoon. At least ten separate tornadoes struck, causing damage in Cass, Livingston, Kalamazoo, Eaton, and Clinton Counties. One person was killed and another injured in a tornado that hit Brighton.

On September 16, 1955, Flint experienced a record high of 90 degrees. This marked the beginning of a 3-day record high streak in Flint, with the 17th and the 18th experiencing temperatures of 94 and 93 degrees respectively.

Forecast Discussion

Upper level ridging will continue to dominate the wx pattern
bringing a continuation of dry and warm wx through the upcoming
week with high temps in the 80s daily.

An overall medium range guidance consensus suggests that any
showers tied to the remnants of whatever becomes of potential
tropical cyclone eight will stay southeast of our area as ridging
continues to dominate the pattern here. However some cloud cover
from this system could move in by Wednesday and Thursday and
potentially keep high temps a few degrees cooler than what will
be experienced today and tomorrow.

The above to much above normal temps will persist right through
next weekend with dry wx to continue.

Two straight weeks in September with sunshine and temps in the 80s? That is remarkable. The lack of rain does not bother me. I’ve mowed enough this year. I’m ready for the leaves to change and all that autumn has to offer.

Some rain would be nice, but I don’t see any on the horizon. The GFS tries to show some light showers around the 26th. I ran the Euro through 00Z on the 26th and it shows not a drop around here. I would expect the 80s to continue for the foreseeable future.

Some rain would be nice indeed! Things have rapidly dried up.

We need rain! Bring it on and forget about temps in the 80’s! Ridiculous!
