Almost feels like spring this morning with temps in the low 40s. There are fog advisories out once again to mix in with the drizzle and light showers around the area as winter takes a pause to lull us into a false sense of security that spring is near.
We will see some areas flirt with 50° today with the threat of rain and a few rumbles of thunder in southern Michigan rain accumulations are expected to be around a quarter inch. Chances of freezing rain come Tuesday night and Wednesday night with rain on Thursday as temps rise again into the 40s then turning back to snow for Friday.
I am thinking we will not have to worry about subzero temps again this winter which should make everyone happy. The seed catalogs have been coming in the mail and it is time to start planning the vegetable crops for the spring and the thoughts and dreams of fresh tomatoes is making my mouth drool in anticipation.

The only person who said anything about 60 degrees yesterday was Slim, and he was simply stating that the previous several years have hit 60 degrees in February. He nor anyone else said anything about it being 60 today. As for 50, it’s already been reached here and other locations around the area.
Record high temps: check, Heavy snow melt: check, Not a peep from the winter lovers: check
Looks like the shovel will not be getting much use again for awhile .. Awesome…
Getting heavy rain and fog with a temp of 50. Perfect ingredients for a rapid snow melt!
Looks like Muskegon broke the record high for the today with 52:

Smashed it by 3 degrees already!
It’s time to start thinking spring! Our two week winter is over. The last few days have been horrible for winter sports. I wouldn’t want to be a ski resort in Southern Lower this year.
This is the reason we sold our snowmobiles a few years back. I couldn’t justify keeping them to use for a couple weeks a year and then just sitting in the barn for months and months.
Good call on that one! If you didn’t want to get instant frostbite, there were very few days you could have used them this winter so far!
Well we don’t really need the rain with several roads around here already flooding, but I guess it beats snow! What happened to our big snowstorm for Wednesday and Thursday some were clamoring about? Temps still in the 40s Thursday will make that difficult.what an incredible meltdown this has been!
Other than the piles, our snow is gone.
