Rain Ending – Finally

Our gloomy wet pattern will slowly move out today though we probably won’t see a return of the sun until tomorrow.  We still have a few showers moving in from the southeast as the persistent low continues to rotate out of the state.

We added another .52 of an inch of rain in the past 24 hours which brings us to 2.31 inches from this system and a total of 4.56 inches for the month of May thus far.  This wet pattern has definitely greened up the landscape and should bring out the morel mushrooms for our dining pleasure.

Warming temps continue to be in our forecast with highs in the 70s to low 80s as we move towards the end of May though we may continue with our wetter than normal pattern through the end of the month.

The clouds are really helping to keep our temps mild overnight. This is the opposite of what was happening earlier in the month with all of our sunshine and starry nights. Yesterday, our high temp was 12 degrees cooler than average, but the low temp was actually 4 degrees warmer than average. As such, our departure against average for May is declining and will be declining dramatically in the next 10 days with all the warm weather expected.
