We have some clouds moving through this morning with light rain out over the lake moving into Grand Haven. Our temp this morning is 56° at 6:30. Sunrise is now 6:30 and the sunsets at 9:09 pm (in Otsego).
You may see a few sprinkles this morning before we return to partly cloudy skies this afternoon. There is a slightly better chance of rain overnight into Wednesday.
...Chance of Rain Tonight into early Thursday... Fair weather under shortwave ridging will prevail today before another shortwave trough approaches with moisture return ahead of it tonight. A warm advection pattern will provide general ascent with showers breaking out after midnight and continuing into Wednesday. Model soundings show some tall skinny CAPE Wednesday afternoon with about 30 knots of 0 to 6 km shear so some convection is possible along and ahead of the cold front. The chance for rain continues into Thursday as a sharp H5 trough axis moves through but model soundings show instability and moisture is limited, so coverage should be isolated to scattered. A strong push of cooler air under upper troughing for the end of the week, then moderating temperatures early next week as heights rise with the trough moving east.

Low of 48 this morning up here in Boyne Falls can we say Fall … INDY
Wow that is chilly. I don’t see any other reporting sites in the 40s up there. Looks like it will rebound to about 80 there today. Low humidity and lots of sun. Have fun!
It was a cool night in parts of Michigan. Here are some of the lows that dropped down into the 40’s overnight. In the UP Doe Lake was the coldest at 37. Stonington and Spincich Lake 41 Wakefield, Champion and Kenton were at 43. Several other locations were in the 45 to 49 range. In lower Michigan Alpena was 48 and Pellston and Mio were 49.

Definitely a cloudy spring. I recall the frustration in not being able to get my telescope out…
A curiosity… my NOAA weather radio often gives a different forecast (usually the 24-36 hour) than what I see on Wood 8 or other local stations… For instance, last evening the radio was forecasting a slight chance of rain on Tue. night, and then mostly sunny on Wed., while I see the forecast above calls for ” showers breaking out after midnight and continuing into
Wednesday.
btw… the NOAA frequency is set to come out of G.R.
Thoughts?
The official H/L at Grand Rapids yesterday was 77/61 there was no rain fall and the sun was out 91% of the time. The overnight low both here in MBY and officially at GRR was 57. I recorded a trace of rain fall this morning and at the current time it is cloudy to the east and clear to the west with a temperature here at my house of 59. For anyone who thought this past spring was cloudy well it looks to maybe have been the cloudiest spring here in Grand Rapids. According to the last issue of the old channel 13 “Weather Guide” the average meteorological spring (1981-2010) at Grand Rapids has 52.7% of possible sunshine. Up to 2013 the lowest average meteorological spring sunshine was reported as 35.6% in 1980. This year the NWS has the meteorological spring sunshine as a reported 35% so yes that looks like this could have been the cloudiest spring at Grand Rapids. In the old Weather Guide 1958 was reported as the sunniest with 65.4%.
