Rain – Becoming Cooler

We were caught on the rain train yesterday in Otsego ending up with 2.62 inches during the morning hours.  Our total for the month is 4.93 inches.  Our high for today is 67° which was just after midnight though temps have hovered there most of the early morning hours.  We currently have 65° at 5 am.  These warm temps will more than likely be our high temps for the day as the bottom begins to fall out once again this afternoon.  A wide range of high temperatures is expected today. Temperatures near Ludington will remain in the lower 50s, while temperatures near Jackson will climb to the lower 70s.

Another wet day is in store with a cold front moving through.  Rain is already to the north and west of southwest Michigan which should move through our area around 9 am.  The heaviest should fall from Grand Rapids to the north where half an inch or more may fall – south of Grand Rapids should be a quarter to half an inch.  If you are up you might see a few snowflakes early tomorrow morning as temps fall to the low to mid-30s.

Temps in the 40s will be the theme through next week.  Our nicest day through the period will be tomorrow as the sun makes an appearance in an otherwise cloudy moist pattern.

Just hit 70 and then the gust front. And what a front! I’m guessing at least 50-60 mph winds and a little hail. The golfers scrambled for cover.

Lots of accumulating snow in the upper midwest. Denver will struggle to hit 20 degrees – with lows in the single digits. So glad we live in Southern Lower Michigan where winters are relatively short and mild.
