It is not often we have a string of sunny days in the fall and winter so we enjoy them when we get them. Now we anticipate the pleasant pattern we have seen to flounder and drift away as clouds move in to cover the sun once again reminding us that it is fall and all good things must come to an end.
Today and tomorrow we will remain on the warm side with highs in the low 70s south and mid to upper 60s north. Friday we will see the clash of weather patterns with the predicted outcome being cool wet conditions will prevail by Saturday on through next week.
So, sadly clouds will start to increase today with the rain moving in early tomorrow morning. We have a wedding to go to tomorrow afternoon which is supposed to be outside which could end up to be unpleasant…
Updated outlooks that came out today show us flipping right back above average after next weeks cool down.
Up to 74 here, very mild day for mid October. Usually we’re raking leaves by now but everything is still green. Going to be a couple weeks before the rakes are out.
My truck is showing 64* degrees it feels warmer then that must be the wind anyways another beautiful Fall day for early Rocktobert all things must come to a end though just wait till Saturday around here lol….INDY
The low at both my house and GRR last nigh was 48. The current temperature here at my house is now 58 with cloudy skies. The H/L at Grand Rapids yesterday was 70/43. For today the average H/L is 63/44. The record high was 85 set in 1949. The record low is 26 set in 1956. The warmest minimum is 63 set in 1954 and the coldest maximum is 40 set in 1906. Last year the H/L was 72/62.

I would gladly take a repeat of last year. Some wet slop in November that that melts away, then a month and a half of minuscule snowfall and mild temps followed by a quick condensed Winter. Sounds perfect!
Yes if last year is a repeat we will be seeing above normal snowfall again! Bring it!
You forget that the lakeshore areas where I lived we had below normal snowfall. That always seems to get lost in all the hype.
No rain or snow ever in zeland what’s next wind lol….INDY
Who ever said that? Check my PWS, I’ve provided the link many times. At least I provide proof, you not so much.
Just facts – gr above normal snowfall and many areas in nw lower above normal! It was a great ski season again!
Well I don’t live in GR or NW lower, I live right on the border of where lake effect snow generally cuts off and last Winter the lake effect was almost nonexistent giving us lower totals. December is usually the big lake effect month and we received about 2 inches.
Wind-chill forcast for Chicago Saturday mid 20’s that’s feel like weather folks that’s crazzy for this time of year lk Michigan saves us again..Get your winter Colt’s out …INDY
Yes our extended long term
Cool pattern will be continuing! Let’s hope it carries right into the winter months with tons or lake effect!
More 70’s today while several states out west get a lot of snow. I love living in Southern Michigan!
CPC returns to above average temps starting later next week.
Only made 68 * degrees yesterday out at thee YARDofBRICKS NE of GR close to 70* degrees A lot better then the record highs a year ago in the mid 80’s boy what a difference ..No 80’s this October love it …INDY
Hit 70 yesterday in GR. Today will be the fourth 70+ degree day in October!
Looking ahead around the end of the month into November we maybe going right into Winter with snow chances and below normal temps around the midwest including Michigan pretty good cold pattern maybe on its way trick and snow ??stay tuned…Have a nice Thursday ….INDY
