It is sad to see all the Christmas lights and decorations shining on a dead landscape. There is something to be said of the beauty of snow with the lights reflecting and glittering off of it. Whether we rejoice or are saddened by the lack of snow it is what it is and no amount of whining will bring about a snowstorm. On the positive side we don’t have to worry about snow removal, driving on slippery roads or falling because of ice under our feet. I am a positive thinker, but still I would like to see snow on the ground during the holidays at least.
Even with temperatures being above normal we haven’t been that warm (temps have been in the upper 30s to low 40s) however we have seen more sun than normal for December which is another positive aspect.
I have always been a snow lover and storms of most types which we have been lacking the past few years. I still believe we are stuck in a cyclic pattern which will eventually change with the passage of years. If you read my weekly weather history posts we have had similar patterns in the past 120 years or so, beyond that weather record keeping was spotty at best. All I can say is beware, short term patterns can change quickly where you can have a sunny warm day then an Arctic front moves through the next.
Models are still showing a more active weather pattern next week on into the new year, sadly they are showing more rain than snow with a mix thrown in for good measure. Saturday night through Sunday night we might have a lake effect snow event set up but it is still not a sure thing at this time. We will enjoy another couple days of the sun before our next system moves in on Thursday bringing mainly rain….
It rigged. Won’t snow

Ok if I’m Rocky mookie and barry may just be warmly married then lol!! In weather news models coming together nicely on a white Christmas who would of thought? Could it be close to last year’s record snowfall on Christmas day stay tuned?? mookie and barry married come on lol! TWas one week away from Christmas let it snow let it snow ..INDY!
Well that just shows how little information you retain. I don’t like warm weather, I’ve posted many times about how I feel towards it. I also don’t like snow, so give me cool, dry, and sunny and that’s the weather for me.
Wrong again. But you forgot Jeff in Portland and Andy W.
Lol !!!
Yeah for sure indy is rocky after a few sprites!!
Another bright stunningly gorgeous December day! Last week I moved the snow blower back to the barn because it’s just in the way in the garage. Used it for the 1 snow event in November, hasn’t been touched since. Guess I should have put some Stabil in the gas since it looks to be a long while before it runs again. Almost feel bad for those who “marked it down” that we would be “hammered” with snow all December long.
Mine is all prepped and ready to go. I haven’t needed it yet, though.
The snow drought continues as Rocky and Indy (are they the same person?) remain MIA! WGN in Chicago says the mild pattern will continue for at least the rest of December, if not longer.
Today is GR’s 8th warm day in a row.
It is sunny with some frost here in Charleston this AM. Getting a later start today but will be home by tonight.

Here copy of the post I made last night
We are on our way home from our latest cruise. We had a very good time had a lot of food to eat and seen some very good comedy shows. The weather was just great very warm no rain and the seas were very calm. The temperatures were in the mid 80’s every day. We are now in Charleston WV we left Fort Lauderdale yesterday with sunny skies and a temperature of 77° it stayed in the 70’s to the Cape Canaveral area where it dropped into the upper 60’s with partly cloudy skies that looked and felted like the UP in the summer time. On today trip it was sunny and warm but there were parking lot snow piles in North Carolina. The person in Arbys we stopped at said they had 11” of snow. Here is Charleston it is 43 with what feels like a cold wind.
We will be home tomorrow and it will be odd to come into Michigan was no snow on the ground in mid-December.
