Today will be milder, with high temperatures in the 60s inland and the 50s closer to Lake Michigan. A slight cooldown will occur Tuesday and Wednesday, with high temperatures mainly in the 40s before much warmer weather arrives late in the week. Friday’s temperatures are expected to break 70 for the first time this year.

Forecast Discussion
- Quiet Weather Continues Zonal flow will continue through the week with fair weather dominating the pattern through Friday. A negatively tilted upper level ridge will keep warm air avecting through the region with high temperatures varying from 20 degrees above normal today, near normal tomorrow and Wednesday before jumping up to 20 to 25 degrees above normal through the latter half of the work week. This warm trend has 60s today with a dry upper level trough swinging through tomorrow which will bring strong WNW flow. Coupled with that flow will be cooler air advection which will bring temps back to seasonal norms. However, that flow will be short lived as warm, southwest flow dominates the latter half of the week with temperatures potentially peaking into the low 70s by Friday. - Potential Storm System This coming weekend The warm moist air on Friday could set up a nice enviornment for strong southerly flow from a strong upper level low Saturday. There remains good confidence in the mid range models that this system will draw deep Gulf moisture with strong mid and low level flow. Though a bit out, if we do have highs in the 60s, with DP`s into the 50s, this could be a good enviornment for not only showers but some afternoon convection.
A warm and snowless March and now 70+ degrees this week? Wow!
