More Sun – Warming Trend

I, for one, would like to see some more exciting weather in the area, however, I am not one to hold a grudge against the climate or for what it brings especially when warming temps and sunny skies are predicted.  This coming week we will see a warming trend with very little chance of rain.  The main concern here and a good portion of the U.S. are the dry conditions.  The latest from the CPC gives us a 52% chance of warmer than normal temps and a 35% chance of above normal rain for the rest of the month.  Normal temps are in the upper 60s and normal rainfall would be around .80 of an inch.

Forecast Discussion

- Rather cold early this morning

High pressure is producing excellent radiational cooling
conditions early this morning with clear skies and calm winds.
Low temperatures early this morning will bottom out in the 30s
to lower 40s across most of our area. Areas of frost are
expected early this morning near to mainly north/ne of
Grand Rapids.

- Becoming milder this week

Temps will undergo a gradual moderating trend through the early
to middle portion of the upcoming week as southeast to southerly
return flow develops on the back side of the departing ridge. Dry
wx is forecast early to mid week as well. A low pressure system moving
in from the upper Midwest will bring just a small chance for showers
by Thursday. However a predominantly dry wx pattern is likely to
continue through at least next Saturday.

Probably won’t be seeing Rocky anymore for a while! Going back on vacation! See you at the next frost!

Wow, that is a large chunk of the country in a drought on that map! Burn bans going up again in our area, but it’s hard to complain about bright and sunny skies everyday. Just perfect weather we are having!
Some sad news, a plane crashed yesterday just a few fields away behind our house killing both people. https://www.wzzm13.com/mobile/article/news/plane-crashes-in-zeeland-township/69-86b95984-5e7f-4e64-86d1-1673a76f54d1

I heard this too. I wonder why it crashed. So sad.

The low bottomed out at 39 here at my house. That 39 was also the official low at GRR. At this time it is sunny and a cool 41 at my house. And yes I had to turn the furnace on this AM for the 2nd time this month. I think it could be time to shut down the AC and put the winter covering on as I don’t think it will get warm enough for the AC until next May or June.

We had to run ours to take the chill off the house too. It really got cold in here last night.
