Yesterday was another perfect summer day with a high of 82° and a low of 55°. Driving the country roads yesterday we saw the corn and soybeans in great condition in Allegan County. Gardens are in good condition with lots of veggies to be purchased at roadside stands. We picked up some sweetcorn and were told they were reaching the tail end of the season for that. I even picked up some local maple syrup. Sadly the summer is slowly winding down.
Today and tomorrow will feature sunny skies and temperatures in the low 80s. We have increased chances of soaking rain on Thursday and Friday.

Forecast Discussion
- Fair and mild weather through Wednesday High pressure will continue to build in and bring predominantly dry wx along with seasonably mild temperatures today through Wednesday. It is not impossible that an isolated light rain shower may develop over our eastern fcst area mid to late this aftn into early evening where some low level confluence develops in conjunction with peak heating. However an overall consensus of latest CAMs and 00Z HREF suggest that this would be very isolated and short lived at best. Subsidence under the ridge will result in fair wx again Wednesday and it will be 2-4 degrees warmer with high temps reaching the middle 80s. Fcst soundings again show potential for a sct-bkn fair wx cu deck to develop but no precipitation is expected. - Rain returns on Thursday, could be heavy Shortwave upper ridging on Wednesday will move east and be replaced by upper troughing and possibly a cut off low by the end of the week. A plume of subtropical moisture, which has been fueling prodigious rain across the Southern and Central Plains recently will reach northeast into LOwer Michigan by Thursday accompanied by isentropic ascent in mid-level warm advection pattern. Expect rain to spread from southwest to northeast across the forecast area on Thursday and into early Friday. The steadier rain will taper off to showers on Friday and into the weekend. There is a marginal risk for excessive rainfall centered around Thursday night as precipitable water values are spiking up to around two inches and slow moving embedded convection could result in local areas of greater than 2 inches of rain.
The great summer weather continues!
You know it! So much for an above normal temp summer! The above normal temps have been crushed! Keep it rolling!
