We have a young cat named Luna – I call her Monster because she attacks anything that moves. For her anything and everything is a toy. She can be lovable if it suits her and of course the grand kids love her. Most of her attributes are the way of cats which is they will do what they want when they want to, however she is ultra hyper.
If she wants to sneak outside she hides under one of the dogs and shoots out the door with them. She is mostly black as are both of our dogs. If that doesn’t work she will fly through the house and zip out the door before she can be caught. We try to keep her inside because she isn’t old enough to have fixed yet.
Yesterday during the Lions game (sorry I jinxed the Lions by saying good things about them) she ran outside and was frisking around having a good time. She won’t allow herself to be caught until she is ready to come in – luckily our back yard is fenced and she can’t jump that high. yet. Unluckily she decided to try climbing a tree and got up to around 20 feet before she discovered she wasn’t a squirrel and couldn’t get back down. As I got my extension ladder to the tree she scrambled up another five feet beyond the reach of the ladder. To make things worse it started to pour down rain soaking the cat and myself in the process.
She sat up there for over an hour wet and scared looking for a way down as I tried to look for a way up. I turned my back for a moment then heard a thump behind me and said “Oh Crap” (not exactly those words as this is a family friendly site). I turned around expecting a dead cat laying on the ground. Low and behold she walked off a few feet and sat down to lick her paws. I wrapped her in a towel to dry her off and check her for damage – she had no injuries with the exception of perhaps damaged pride. She laid around the rest of the day purring and taking it easy – this morning she has returned to her normal self.
They say cats have nine lives and we figured she used up two of them yesterday. She must have a guardian angel. I said a prayer before she fell and God must have been watching over her. If I would have fallen from the tree i would have had multiple broken appendages or worse. How she fell over twenty feet and survived is beyond my comprehension – she is one lucky cat and we are all happy she survived her endeavor. Will she learn from her mistake? We shall see….
The temperature dipped to 40.2° overnight and we picked up .05 of an inch of rain since midnight. Yesterday we had .45 of an inch of rain which brings us to just over five inches for the month. These are all Otsego totals. Today we may see some sun and partly cloudy skies after the rain moves out this morning. Tomorrow appears to be another story all together with rain and storms in the forecast – rainfall totals should be a half to three quarters of an inch.
I love your cat story!! It sure made me laugh. It was nice to see the sun come out today.
Warm and warm upcoming! Where’s the snow?

“The weather for Halloween evening and trick-or-treating should be abnormally nice. It seems most years have cold, wind and showers during trick-or-treating. Not this year, and that is across the entire state.”

Not seeing any real warm air soon for west Michigan lots of cold air building in Canada by the middle of November looks like Winter will get going around here …Any outdoor plans I would get them done in the next couple weeks!!! Have a good Monday INDY!!
I intended on bringing in all the outdoor furniture this past weekend, but the weather did not cooperate. It’s time to winterize the warm weather equipment and get the snowblower ready.
I did that a month ago I’m ready!! Hopefully are Winter will have more fun tracking then this summers storms! INDY!
Love the cat story. I am glad she is okay. I have a crazy kitty like her and she always gets a laugh out of me even though she is being naughty a lot of the time! They make life fun! Enjoy your little bundle of joy for the love, life and laughter she brings each day.
Nice story. Our cat is purely indoors. She just turned 17. Her sister, whom my sis-in-law has, roams outside and in. She is the hunter, for sure. She always leaves presents on the front porch (mice, baby rabbits, etc.).
