As you know I am an animal lover, especially dogs. When the kids take their kids on a trip we get to dog sit. This weekend we are watching Dozer a beautiful tan Lab mix. They dropped him off last night and he has been my constant companion. Our dogs get along well with others so there are no issues. One of the other kids have a saint Bernard which is the size of a pony.
A hot and humid weekend is in store with heat indices near 100 inland from Lake Michigan. High pressure will slip away today and allow a warm front to pass through the region tonight. A few showers and thunderstorms are possible, mainly north of Interstate 96, before the warm front passes through Saturday morning. A cold front is expected to sink south through the state on Monday night, bringing relief from the heat and humidity as well as a risk of showers and storms.
There are heat advisories in the states to our southwest and this is the air which will be moving in for the weekend. We have a nice morning this morning with temps in the upper 50s – Heat and humidity will build this weekend, allowing heat index values to surge into the 90s to just over 100 degrees. (The graphic above shows heat index values, not actual temperature.) The heat index is what the temperature feels like to your body when both air temperature and humidity are factored in. Heat indices like the ones we are expecting this weekend will cause stress on the body. Plan now to stay cool and hydrated. Don’t forget about your pets. Never leave a child or pet in a hot car! Limit strenuous activity outdoors, or in buildings without air conditioning. Shower and thunderstorm activity will be very limited Saturday afternoon through Sunday, and will provide relief to very few locations.
Clouds moving in we may have a lot of clouds around this weekend see if that keeps the temps down a little.. I see wood tv 8 came down on the highs for the weekend already and Tuesdays 78* looks refreshing! INDY!
False. They actually increased them since yesterday and the day before. 90, 92, 90.
Lol! INDYCOOL!
CPC says warm temps will continue after this heat wave!

If by cooler you mean still above average temps, then yes.

I always get a kick when in the winter time when the temperatures are in the 60’s in Florida and people here make “fun” of the fact that our southern friends (many of whom come from the north) put on their jackets and coats when it gets that cold down there. (note I was in Florida last January and it was cold temps in the low 40’s and yes I had a coat on) Anyways with this short heat wave we have coming up there are many people here that will be complaining on how “hot and humid” it is. Well temperatures in the 90’s are just a “average” summertime day in much of the United States. We are just not very heat tolerant in our part of the country. So just turn on your air (if you have it) if not go shopping or catch a few movies or go the beach. Side note down south even at the beach it is very hot and humid. With a west wind that will not be the case here.

Heat Indexes around or above 100 degrees are not that common in Michigan, especially in mid June.
Possible 3 days of 90’s not that big of a heat wave … Lol!! INDYDOG14!!
On that Indy I agree.
Slim
I rather have Rain them temps in the 90’s YARDofBRICKS is turning brown .. INDYDOG14!!
So then why is 3 days in the teens a “Artic Blast” or “Polar Votex Outbreak”?
First you said no more 90’s for the rest of summer two weeks ago. Now three possible 90+ degree days is no big deal. LOL
A couple more “summer days”?…we’ll have to take what we can get.
A warm 2016, a warm 2017, and a warm 2018 so far. You’re living in the best of times!
The summer of 2016 was a warm one. 2017 not so much warm June, average July and a below average August. But remember the summers of 2014 and 2015 were cooler then average. But the over all trend has been for more warmer months then cooler months. Will have to see if that trend continues or not.

I was talking about the years of 2016 and 2017 both being above average temps.
Here comes the heat! Not even officially summer yet and already experiencing our second 90+ degree heat wave. For what it’s worth, the CFS weeklies keep us warmer than average through July.
My mom always dog sits for us. She loves going to grandma’s! She comes home a little fatter, though.
LOL!! I dog sit my grand-dogs too. I always enjoy it.
Still Thunderstorm dry out at thee YARDofBRICKS but with the little heat we have returning maybe early morning tomorrow we get a line of storns rolling through that would be wonderful!! Just a response to mookie a few 90’s here and there in the summer is not a typical hot summer seeing a high of 79* Tuesday the 90’s sure don’t last long when they come Short term drink lots of water this weekend Tuesday turn the air conditioning off!!
